“Possibly best week away ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

Lets start at the beginning, Booked Villa No 3 thru Simply Travel. Flights were with Thomas Cook. I was pleasantly surprised by the service. It exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival at Kalamata Airport we were met by Melanie the Simply Travel rep who gave us driving directions to the villa, including details of a slight change to the original driving route. She also arranged for us to meet up with her on the following day to introduce us to the area.
I mention Melanie as she was brilliant, unfortunately Simply Travel will not be marketing this villa in 2012 but i believe two other companies are trying to get the contract to do so.
The villa was immaculate, and a mid week maid service kept the property tip top with a change of linen and towels. The pool was gorgeous, but a word of warning at 1.9 metres deep all round not suitable for non swimmers or small children.
The area around the villa is beautiful, with beaches to die for and crystal clear waters.
Kardamilli is a lovely typical Greek village with some nice restaurants and Tavernas. The latter very reasonably priced with local wine at 2.70 euros for 500ml. One Taverna especially welcoming was in the centre of the village run by brother and sister, Petros and
Ana.
Areas to visit if you really want to go away from the relaxing and quiet villa is Ancient Missini. Forget Olympia, Missini is a real find. Allow at least 2 hours to walk around the Archelogical site, its free to do so. There is a small Museum at the top of the hill which i believe costs about 3 euros to visit. The site is only about 20 minutes from Kalamata Airport.
A must do is take a drive thru the mountains locally to your villa, well worth it just for the landscape, but also take time to walk around. If walking is your thing then there are plenty of trails starting in Kardamyli and you can buy a hiking map in one of the village supermarkets.
One more mention regarding Melanie, on our last day she popped back to the villa and left us return driving instructions which all in all helped a lot to avoid the road works in Kalamata, great service.

“Holidays can't get better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

I had some reservations when this was said to be a studio with pool. I thought nah, studios won't have pools, this is another Thomson's c**k up. But no, I have to hold my hands up, the description was absolutely correct.

We we're chuffed to bits with it - plenty large enough for the two of us and even had a very nice settee/day bed for a third person (a little lacking in privacy though). Small kitchen area and lovely airy bathroom with walk in shower with window looking out over the countryside. Table and three chairs inside with brightly coloured tablecloth. Apart from the most spectacular thunderstorm one afternoon the weather was much too nice to spend inside when there was a table, chairs and umbrella on the patio.

The mattress was quite firm which I prefer with lovely white cotton bed sheets and comfy pillows. We certainly didn't need anything else but there was a duvet and spare pillows in the wardrobe had we needed .

The ac unit was quiet and there was always plenty of hot water from the solar panels and enough towels. Cleaning and changing of towels and bedding was done once during the week.
I prefer that as I do care about the environment and loathe it when people demand clean sheets and towels every day when they're on holiday.

The patio area was fabulous with a splendid little pool and glorious views all around. The loungers were comfortable and it was a great place to come back to each afternoon to chill and swim.

Ten minute stroll into the village, uphill going back but would only trouble you if you had mobility problems. We used it as an excuse to pop into Dionysious(??) taverna to have a beer on the way home :)

Might not be everyone,s cup of tea but we were so happy to have a queen and her kitten around. It was an absolute pleasure to watch their antics.

Photos are similar to the others on here but they're to show what a 'studio' villa is like. Forgive the obviousness of some of them, "ooh look there's a bed and there's a ceiling...." but you can't submit the review with missing sections.

Room Tip: Three villas here, nbrs 1 and 2 are studios and 3 is one bed, the latter being at the end of the tra...

Holiday booked through Simpley Travel. After landing at Kalamata and collecting the car from Europcar, we made the 1 hour drive to Palataki Villa along the coastline. We had Villa No 3 a 1 bedroom property, the other 2 villa's close by being studios. From the main road its a short distance down the track to utter peace and tranquility. The first sight that greets you as you enter the gates, the swimming pool and then the well kept patio area with lemon trees and many shrubs all well maintained, which runs 360 degrees around the Villa, with views to the mountain range behind as well as the stunning view across the Messina Bay to the front. The pool area has 4 sunloungers as well as a parasol, just off is the table and chairs which to enjoy your meals from. Moving inside the property, you enter the large kitchen diner area, fully fitted kitchen which included not only a top of the range over and grill, but large upright fridge freezer, toaster, kettle etc. (Simpley Travel provide you with a complimentary stock for your first meal which included a bottle of wine.... nice touch). The front room has 2 sofas, flat screen TV, larger open fire place, bookcases built into the stone work, decorative wise was excellent. UPVC windows and patio doors which included the fly screens let in pleanty of light, as well looking out on the surrounding countryside. Modern bathroom with walk-in shower along the corridor, which then leads onto the bedroom with fully fitted furniture, again a larger double patio door takes you onto the terrace. The Villa (no3) was beautiful beyond words and the silence with the exception of wildlife was indeed bliss. We understand that whilst Wi-Fi is present in the area, the owner is having that fitted for 2012, for those wishing to bring laptops/notebooks with them. The pool is self cleaning, though every 3 days someone came to take samples and test the waters, the villa itself was cleaned again every 3 days and was spotless.
Kardamili itself, does not offer much, a few Tavernas and 2 excellent supermarkets, very traditional as a village, not been taken over by tourisim thankfully, the car is definatley needed to get away, make good use of it, there are some lovely places to visit.
Stoups further down the coast is the nearest beach at Korgaria, lovely sandy beach with many Taverna close by to top up with either food or water (booze if your that way inclined).
We had 2 weeks here in accomodation far beyond what we expected and with Simpley Travel, todate of all our travels the best. Cannot praise the Palataki Villa (No3) highly enough.

“Nice Accommadation, Great Location”

Stayed in villa 1 of 3 nice villas with pool and air con. Villas and pools were very clean and well equiped.
Lemon and orange trees in villa grounds, each villa was screened by privit and lemon trres, views over the mountains, the bay and Kardamili village, which is a 5 minute stroll aware, it is a uphill walk back to villas.
Plenty of tavernanas in village, plus 2 well stocked supermarkets, although 2 bigger supermarkets in Stoupa which is a 5 minnute drive away.
Lidl and Carrfour are in Kalamata on the road to the airport and Messina. A good location for a base for visiting the Mani and surrounding area.

“Fantastic Palataki Villas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2010

My wife & I have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Palataki Villas in Kardhamili
in the Peloponnese and must say the three villas are in a secluded quiet area with fantastic views with a backdrop of mountains & sea views to the front.
The Palataki villas are spotless well equiped with there own swimming pools.I could not not fault these villas on any aspect, yes they were fantastic.
We travelled with Simply travel, our rep amanda was very helpful with trips out and I must recommend a visit to the Diros caves absolutly outstanding .
This area of the Peloponnese around Kardhamili is unspoilt with hillside mountain villiages to explore & mountain gorges for walking & Stoupa a nice seaside resort.
I could go on but what made this holiday special was the Palataki Villas,Fantastic.
