I really hate to let everyone know about this fabulous place overlooking the Ouachita National Forest....it will be harder for us to get a reservation! Owned by Graydon Clark and run by his son Robert Clark, Backwoods Lodge and Cabins is also Mudchurn Outfitters/Ranch. This place is one of the cleanest, well-kept places I have had the opportunity to stay at. Mr. Clark owns approximately 48 acres in the Ouachita National Forest and along with his son has built one nice 4 bedroom/4 bath lodge called The Lodge. At $250 a night, if you had 3 other couples going with you this spacious lodge is very affordable with plenty of ATV trails to keep you busy for days. The Lodge has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths downstairs along with a good sized kitchen/dining room and a relaxing living with satelite TV. Upstairs are the other 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, each with their own satelite tv's. The Clarks have also built two smaller efficiency cabins complete with kitchenettes, a full bathroom with shower, a double bed and fold out fouton. These cabins are currently 2 years old and very well maintained and stocked with all linens/towels, dishes, microwave, toaster oven, apartment sized refrigerator and small coffee maker. Each cabin is pretty well isolated from each other and cost $75 during the week and $100 on w/ends. Wolf Pen Gap ATV trails are just a 40 minute ATV ride away from this location and very scenic as well. We absolutely recommend this place and will be going back in the near future.
