We stayed for 5 nights at mystic sands. The hospitality was great and the rooms were perfect for what we needed with kitchen facilities. We were picked up from the jetty for whale watching and for a day cruise on a catamaran with two if by the sea. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Tonga. Kjell was great at showing us around on the trip from the airport and filling us in on what there was to do on the island. He even dropped us off up a winding road for us to walk to some look outs of the whole island. Mosi and her daughter were excellent in providing taxi service and Mosi was great cooking the giant trevalli that Mark spear fished off the jeti!! We also managed to hitch back from town as the tongan people were very friendly and we were picked up by the first drivers to pass us. Would definitely recommend.

I, my husband and his brother recently travelled to Tonga from Norway. We wanted to visit Vava'u and booked our stay with Mystic sands for one week. I am so glad we stayed with them as Kjell was a fantastic host with insight of what to do and where to go. Anything we needed we just had to ask and everything was taken care of. We stayed in the beach fale with the private beach and it was the ultimate tropical getaway. Having breakfast every morning on the terrace with that breathtaking view is something I am blessed to have seen.
The staff were great, especially Maka who has a taxi and his wife Mosi the housekeeper. They made sure that we had a fabulous stay and at all hours were available to us when we needed. I am thankfull that we went to Mystic Sands as we enjoyed ourselves so much and if we return to Vava'u we will definitely visit the Mystic Sands again. Thank you so much for making us feel part of the family :)

We recently spent some time at Mystic Sands and cannot think of a better place to wind down with the family, enjoy the stunning view from every vantage point. Kjell and Adriana have done a superb job of upgrading since I first visited 2 years ago. The photos tell the story. We were treated to a gorgeous Tonga feast and it was without doubt the highlight of our visit to Vava'u. Rooms spotless with everything inside set up for self-catering and we were delighted by the peaceful, tranquil evenings with only the sound of the water lapping outside. Loved the new jetty and covered thatched gazebo, perfect for sitting and enjoying a BBQ or feast whilst looking out over the water. Thank you for such a special time ! Jane and family.

Mystic Sands was by far the best self catered resort we've ever stayed at. Kjell and Adriana were the perfect hosts. Before we had even arrived, they helped us plan our entire vacation in Vava'u. Their on-site staff, Mosi and Maka, made us feel like part of the family. Maka was always available to drive us into town, while Mosi took care of the housekeeping and was even able to do laundry for us. And we definitely recommend having Mosi cook one of her traditional Tongan feasts. Best food on the island! As for the resort itself, we stayed in the two bedroom, two bathroom house. It was clean, spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities one would expect in a self-catered unit. The view from the deck was better than most five-star hotels. The snorkeling off Mystic Sands private dock was fantastic with lots of sea life to be seen. This is the same private dock where we were picked up for all of our water activities. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to all of our friends.
