“HIDDEN BARGAIN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2011

We were in the Village for 3 days househunting and stayed at Escapes (Los Lagos). We opted for the smaller 1 bedroom condo and found it to be well above our expectations! It was a great value and in perfect condition, fully equipped. The only problem we had was connecting to their wired network for Internet access. Our neighbor in the larger condo next door (with a screened deck, barbecue grill and bubble tub) had the same connection problem. A call to support took 20+ minutes to resolve the issue. They need a wireless network. That said, we will definitely stay here again on our next trip to HSV! Be warned, though, about the stairs. People with mobility problems will have a hard time.

“Great time and not disappointed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2010

We did an exchange with our RCI for a week and loved our Unit 9. It was two bedroom/two bath unit and very large 1450 sq. ft. It had everything one would need plus to enjoy a week of leisure. Great for those who have problems with stairs (this has no steps). They keep the kitchen well stocked with soap, towels, pots, pans, etc. The George Foreman outdoor grill was great and easy to clean up. The bedrooms are large (master with king and other bedroom had twin beds). I never use the whirlpools unless at home but theirs is SUPER LARGE. Wish master bath had two sinks and I could do without carpet in bathroom. Deck in back was super with an iron round table and four chairs. This model is older but well maintained. It is a mirror image of the resort at Cherokee Village. The two recliners were nice, couch, love seat and dining room table with 6 chairs. No hair dryers but they give you plenty of towels plus have nice washer/dryer in unit. Plus as you enter the condo it has a covered atrium with large round table and 4 chairs out front. The walking paths are EVERYWHERE! We took the Lake DeSoto ($7.00 each) (our unit 9 was VERY close walk to this marina and the Lake Balboa boat rides ($8.00 each). Check in was fast and friendly staff and check out was equally quick. We did not have use of pool because was in process of opening but if you like quite and easy get away, this is great plus Hot Springs is only 20 miles south. We did the Garvan Gardens and was not disapppointed. The Monday coffee & donuts, cereal, etc. was informative but no pressure to do anything and no mention of timeshares. This resort is same developers as Bella Vista, Cherokee Village and Holiday Island. Please note: NO SMOKING in units and NO PETS, no exception and big fine of $500.00 if caught.

“Nearly excellent and a great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2010

We stayed in unit 93B, a one bedroom in the 12-unit buildings next to Ramona's Kitchen. Extremely clean, virtually no wear on anything. Because of the low price we got, we didn't expect much. We were shocked by how clean and roomy the unit was, with a separate bedroom plus a full size sofa sleeper in the living room/kitchen and ample storage. Kitchen was well equipped with the usuals, which were in way better than average shape for a vacation rental.

Just a couple of negatives which may have been specific to our unit: Heat would not turn down, finally had to open window - in 40 deg. January! and cable internet wouldn't work.

Hot Springs Village has all the necessary stuff near the gate: playground, grocery, gas, drugstore, Walmart, etc. etc. It is a bit of a drive (at least 20 minutes) to Hot Springs itself and more like 30 to the south end of Hot Springs. Very uncrowded in January as it's too cold to take advantage of all the outdoor rec. We mostly wanted to go to Oaklawn.

“Los Lagos was a wonderful surprise in such a beautiful resort!”

We reserved a small one bedroom unit, like a little condo, for a full 7 days the first week of October in Los Lagos, Hot Springs Village. It really was a beautiful time of the year to be in Arkansas, and the resort just looked beautiful the way it's surrounded by all the hills and mountains. The upkeep and landscape around the huge resort area is very good and we really appreciated the manned security station at the entry.
I couldn't agree more with the previous review about all the lakes and marina, hiking trails and places to walk and enjoy. This is a destination you can visit with nothing on your mind, but still find plenty to explore - and then of course, there's going into Hot Springs proper.
Our little condo unit, 84b, was filled with everything we would need - dishes, soaps, towels, to make our stay comfortable. And just a few miles away from the gate was a Walmart Supercenter for anything we forgot to bring with us.
We also ate some delicious food during our stay at some of the local places outside of the Village: Rockys Corner, Higdon Ferry Cafe, The Home Plate and El Acapulco.
We would love to come back here for another getaway!

“A Fabulous Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2009

Wow, this was a NICE facility.

The rooms were generous and well appointed. We had a 2 bdrm, 2 bath, lockout unit that had 1 & 1/2 kitchens. It was a really interesting layout that was spacious, and comfortable. There was a deck/balcony with an electric BBQ (which we enjoyed). The fullsized kitchen was great and there was even a mini-kitchenette in the lockout. It was fun and decadent to have 4 TV sets in the unit.

The clubhouse was right next door with a pool, hot tub, computer, games, craft area, and information about local attractions. There was a marina onsite with a boat launch and a fishing pier. We caught a few small ones and enjoyed just kicking-back, watching the fish jumping in the water at dusk.

The local area had TONS of golf courses, good restaurants and really cool Crystal Mining. We highly recommend Ron Coleman's Crystal Mine (as recommended by the Escapes on-site staff). We came back with a carload of crystals, a ton of pictures, and lots of great memories.

A car is a MUST. Everything requires driving around.

There are well-paved walking paths on the facility and they extend into the Village complex (which is HUGE beyond belief) There are over 4 lakes in the Village and MILES of paths. It's Beautiful.
