We had a perfect holiday thanks to Mario and his team. We all want to go back to enjoy this wonderful archipelago and relaxed atmosphere. Some extra nice things about Movida: The staff, the boat trips, the good food and the fruit juices.

The perfect place to spend a few days (or more). Los Roques is an unspoilt, unknown paradise. Posada Movida may at first appear expensive, but it is well worth the money when you realise what you get: Excellent food and wine, great staff and a fantastic atmosphere. Transport to a different paradise island every day (complete with beach umbrella, chairs and a cold box stuffed with beer, fruit, coke, water, food), is thrown in.

Stayed here for 2 nights with friend Kayvi after trip to Angel Falls, Merida and Lake Maracaibo. Arranged the booking for Posada Movida from the UK. Emailed Mario who booked the flight tickets to Los Roques for us with LTA from Caracas, payed him per Paypal for flights and room. That all went very well. On arrival on the tiny airport in Los Roques we were met by two friendly chaps from the posada who took us there and carried our luggage. All very relaxed. No hassle. The same afternoon they dropped us off on lovely beach on the a small neighbouring island with chair, parasol and well stocked lunchbox ( all included in price posada). The atmosphere in this stylish posada is very homely and the Italian style food is great. Dinner is shared on long table with the other guests and the conversations flowed freely as did the rum at the end of the evening! Room was good and shower was hot. There is a roof terrace where you have wifi. Next day we went scuba diving, the padi dive shop is just about 100 meters away from the posada. The town is small with a lot of character. Multicolored houses, verandas, beach sand streets, lots of boats and omnipresent spear diving pelicans to watch. Flight back on Sunday was early afternoon. I understand LTA reserve the late afternoon return flights for day trip tourists to the islands. We would have loved to stay longer. Great stay and praise to Mario and his family for running this place so well.

The place was very relaxed and easy-going, the food was plenty and great, the rooms were very decent, the people were very friendly and helpful. We've been lying at sandy beaches all day. The posada was like a house with friends. The fact that we had such relaxing vacation was due to Mario, the Italian owner, who took care of everything at the last detail. Just bare in mind that we are talking about relaxed vacation, this is a national park, the facilities of the island are basic, there wasn't any hot water but we were fine. I'll definitely go back and I strongly recommend it.
