We needed to come a day early due to horrible weather conditions and fear of ferry not running! Margaret took care of the situation and sent us to another guest house down the street (where Annie and Findlay live!) and we spent the first two nights in a WONDERFUL house and then the next 2 nights in Hirta House which was also VERY nice. We were very comfortable and the library/sitting room was a nice place to rest and enjoy the beautiful views. The breakfasts were great and we were VERY happy with our decision to stay here. Would highly recommend to those visiting Harris.

Worth the 10 min drive to Tarbet eateries to stay somewhere so lovely - many thanks to Margaret and Kenny.

We stayed at Hirta House for four nights and found it a very enjoyable experience. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean - with an outstanding sea view. Margaret made us feel welcome, was very helpful and took care to cater to our breakfast wishes. We would definitely choose Hirta House for a new stay!

We stopped at Hirta House for the final night of our trip and really wished we could have stayed longer! A warm and welcoming house with an amazing round bed! The room we stayed in was beautiful - just to our taste. The breakfast was very good and catered for every need. My husband now wants to take up sea fishing after a very interesting conversation with the friendly owner! We saw some porpoises as we left driving over the bridge - this made this place even more special. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to return. The only downside was that there was no local pub. That said, that did not bother us at all - when there was such a beautiful room to spend time in!!!
