“Lovely cottage with great views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

We stayed in Rowan Cottage for one week in July. Cottage is lovely, clean, well equipped with with amazing views to the Loch. Place is a very good base to make long walks near the shores and up to the hills. And there are so many places worth to visit in this region (Cowal, Kintre, Arrochar Apls, Orchy River)!

Thanks again Wendy and Steve!

“Amazing, Stunning, Hospitable, will keep going back !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

My wife and I were driving around Scotland in July. We covered lots of miles and saw some absolutely stunning scenery. We stayed at Rowan house owned by Steve and Wendy for 3 nights. Firstly, the location - was simply beautiful, quiet, peaceful. If you are thinking of going to New Zealand for beautiful scenery give this a try first, its much closer :-).

The accommodation - we have travelled the world and stayed in the top hotels some countries have to offer - this B&B ranks up there with all of them. The room was decorated with the utmost of TLC and the view out of the room looking on to a lake was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.

The hosts - Steve and Wendy are the most hospitable of B&B owners. After a night there we felt like they were not the owners but just some friends we were stopping by with.

Lastly, the breakfast - TO DIE FOR !!

We will surely be returning to Carrick Castle and its surrounding areas. As for Rowan House we won't be looking anywhere else when we go up there again.

“Very nice, very friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2011

We spent three nights at this highly recommendable place. The hosts Steve and Wendy are very nice and always helpful, the rooms comfortable and impeccably clean. Good food (breakfast and if so desired evening meals), Wendy is a great cook!

The location is a bit out of the way of nearly everything, but wasn't that what we were looking for? Would come back!

“Would highly recommend this beautiful B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2011

My husband and I and our two daughters stayed at this beautiful bed and breakfast in Carrick Castle on the eve of my eldest daughter's wedding in the Lodge on Loch Goil. I cannot recommend it enough. It was obviously just a bed for the night for us all before my daughter's wedding at the nearby Lodge. We, were therefore very pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and tastefully decorated Rowan House was. The very nice couple who own it told us they had bought it some years ago and had fully restored the building which was beautifully painted with shutters on the windows and was very fresh and pretty inside with beautiful drapes in the bedrooms most of which are en-suite. We awoke on the Saturday to a wonderful breakfast of a choice of cereals, fruit, fruit juices etc and then a lovely cooked breakfast. It was a joy to stay there and very reasonably priced.

“Remote in the best possible way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 May 2011

We stayed just one night when passing through and had the most beautiful picnic on the loch shore where Wendy had provided tables and chairs. An unspoilt view. Stunningly clean and beautifully decorated room. The breakfast room looks over the loch.
