“Very Dissapointed”

After reading the great reviews on this website myself and my husband stayed in the bed and breakfast of the White Hart Inn, we arranged this trip as a celebration after recovering from a serious illness and we could not wait to enjoy this treat. Unforntunately we found the hostess extremely rude, at first she was welcoming however she quickly changed her tune towards us, after comments such as " If you cant afford to stay in padstow, dont come to padstow" after we were discussing the parking facilities, although this is not her responsibility there was no need for such a rude comment to paying guests. After I overpaid the fees by cheque she threatened to rip it up, the milk was gone off resulting in us buying our own. Overall we had a nightmare weekend, the accomodation was faultless but we cannot help but feel that patricia ruined our weekend. We left very upset feeling we had wasted our money and time.

We appreciate all our visitor's feedback, especially via Trip Advisor. We are glad you found our "accommodation faultless" and the location and cleanliness worthy of a top grade. It is therefore very regrettable that after settling your account, you departed feeling disappointed. It is our pleasure to welcome guests from around the World to enjoy their stay at The White Hart, and to make them feel at home in Padstow.

“Charming Property, perfect location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

My husband and I stayed in the apartment here for a week and had a fantastic time. The owner Patricia could not have been more welcoming or helpful.

The apartment itself was very well equiped, full of character and there is a charming court yard garden. It is ideally located seconds from the harbour front and Padstow's many attractions. The White Hart also provides a great base for exploring the rest of Cornwall and the provision of a garage, in a town where parking appears difficult at peak times, is an added bonus.

I would thoroughly recommend The White Hart and hope to return soon.

“Excellent place to stay and great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

I found this place through searching on the internet and then looking at the reviews on here! We stayed for one week in the one bed apartment and the place was lovely, Patricia was very welcoming on our arrival and throughout our stay recommending places to visit and eat.

The apartment is plenty big enough for two people, the bedroom is a small room and has a low roof but this did not bother us and my husband is over 6ft! The lounge and dinning area are very comfortable and bathroom is plenty big enough.

We used the garage that is a short walk from the apartment, the garage is small but we managed to get our Passat in it as long as we backed in close to the wall, it would be too small for an Estate car but there are plenty of car parks in the area.

The location is perfect, right in the centre of Padstow.

Overall we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend The White Hart.

“Love it: central, charming, cosy, clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2011

I strongly recommend this place for a romantic weekend, or for anyone who appreciates history, style and so on. The White Hart was the first inn in Padstow, built at the time of Henry the eighth, so it's very central and very charming, with low beams and thick walls, but it's very comfortable and the television, kitchen and bathroom are all modern and perfectly clean. The flat is very charming and cosy without being at all chintzy or twee. It was heaven to come back to after a windy coastal walk, as was the sheltered courtyard garden.
Padstow is old and small and very popular, so parking is a huge issue in the town. I think the owner, Patricia, offers a space if you stay for such and such a time. I certainly recommend that you ask her about parking beforehand, as I would with any accommodation in a built-up area.
I'd also ask about the heating if you are expecting bad weather. We arrived after a spell of hot weather had finished, and we were a bit cold in the evenings, but too tired to go downstairs and ask about turning it on. In any case, there was a very nice wool and mohair blanket in the cupboard. Like the china, the cutlery, the soap the tv and the toilet paper, it was good quality.
You get a little bit of light in the bedroom in the mornings, and a little bit of noise from outside -- voices, the occasional car -- so take mask and earplugs if you are very sensitive to these things.
Also, in case you are afraid of dogs or anything, two sweet-natured little white scottish terriers(?) live there too, and sometimes appear in the garden.
We were very happy with the White Hart, and I think it would be hard to find another place as charming and comfortable and convenient.

“just a pleasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2009

had a really warm welcome after being recommended this accommodation by friends. Patricia was the perfect hostess and the lovely westies were not far behind. All needs are more than adequately met by this accommodation and it's location.
Patricia gives you plenty of recommendations in regards as to where to eat, do follow her advice and book early.
We did leave early due to the poor weather however this was no reflection on the hospitality or accommodation.
