Stayed here on business.

Pleasant staff on arrival. Hotel public areas looking tired, but not as tired as my room. It smelled odd, sort of damp stale mix. And very tired. Peeling wallpaper, unpainted plaster ect, ect. The bed was actually quite comfortable to my surprise. No buscuits with the tea and coffee facilities which to my mind is a sign of penny pinching. Try and get a room that doesn't face the A47 as the single glazing does not keep the noise out.

Essentially the hotel is old and needs a full re-dec so if you bear this in mind you know what you will get. Are the Ramada group struggling? Don't know but they need to splash some cash here.

Good wi-fi.

Breakfast was large, and no real complaints, standard cooked breakfast fare.

The staff were very friendly!

Happy the firm paid, but wouldn't use my own money, but fairly good value at £65 B&B.

Dear BigDuke666,

I am pleased that you found your stay with us acceptable overall. I am conscious of the need to refresh the decor of the hotel and have recently commenced a redecoration of the bedrooms and bathrooms and will continue until all bedrooms have been completed.
I am glad that you found the bed comforatble, it was recently purchased bed as part of our desire to replace all the beds in the hotel.
I can assure you that the lack of biscuits in the bedroom was only because we have to adhere to Ramada standards that does not include the provison of biscuits.
I would like to thank you for taking the time to feedback your experience and would hope that we may have the opportunity to welcome you back to the Ramada Kings Lynn again in the furture.

“very disappointed”

I live local but booked family in for weekend who were visiting they said the breakfast and accomodation were ok. We joined them for an evening meal that was booked well in advance.
it was a disaster starters were lovely main meals 3 had to go back which were steaks they were black burnt should never have left the kitchen. We did have an appologie but it was late in coming. Also the place was very unwelcoming it was cold no fire alight no back ground music no smiling staff no atmospere.

Dear Debs780,

I am sorry that you were dissapointed with the quality of some of your meal. On the evening in question there had been a breakdown of 2 pieces of equipment in the kitchen that created considerable pressure on the kitchen team to deliver their normal high standards.
We strive to deliver good customer care and service and I was dissapointed to read that you felt that the hotel and the staff were unwelcoming.
I would seek to assure you that your comments have been acted upon and I hope that we may welcome you back to the Ramada Kings Lynn again in the future.

“A very tired hotel...”

Initial impression - a very tired looking hotel, id need of modernisation.

I had single occupancy in a double room...
Room was OK and clean, but very dated; bathroom smelt mouldy, and was in desperate need of refurbishment.
Restaurant fully booked for the evening by a coach party, so I was resigned to the bar area, or eating out.
Bar area not particularly relaxing, and food very mediocre.
I'll be working in the area again, so will be looking for alternative accommodation....

“Thursford Spectacular Weekend”

We were part of a coach party of 30 people, arriving Friday afternoon until Sunday morning. The staff were very welcoming and by the time we got to our room, the cases were already there. Our room was of a good clean standard. We were on a half board basis. The food was excellent and the dining room staff were very attentive. There was a good choice of menu for the evening meal. The lounge area could do with more seating, as there was little room for other guests as we commandeered all the lounge area. Overall a very enjoyable Thursford Spectacular weekend.

“Not a holiday destination but good for a night.”

Stayed on a Saturday night in the summer while heavily pregnant. And I've given it top marks because I wanted to raise it's average because I didn't find it to be too bad. Once we'd navigated the roundabout (it's mental) and found the hotel we were checked in quickly and told there was a wedding reception that evening but it was on the other side of the hotel so the noise would not affect us.

No suprise that I found the room to be tired and very dated but functional and seemingly clean. They only provided one one cup for coffee in a double room which was odd but they did provide me an extra pillow when requested (although the extra pillow was requested on reservation explaining it was for the comfort of a pregnant guest yet I still needed to ask again on arrival as they obviously hadn't checked for special requirements on our reservation but no biggy)

We then drove out to visit friends for the day. There's not much to do in the imediate area and with busy main roads and it's remote location on a business park it's a hotel for those with a car. That said, we returned at about 9.30pm and the wedding party was in full swing. All of the many, many parking spots were taken by wedding guests, not all of whom would have been residents of the hotel and many felt the need to take two spaces with one car. We had to park randomly on the road leading up to the hotel and cross our fingers that neither the car or us were hit by traffic going in and out. Any other time it would have been annoying but waddling up the long drive in the dark (trying not to trip over rabbits) at 37 weeks pregnant and desperate for the loo was unacceptable.

Here's a tip, if you have big parties as often as you do, keep some parking spaces reserved for residents who are actually paying to be there. At the very least you could warn residents that parking becomes non existant at these times.

Once we got in the hotel it was very busy and noisy, many drunk wedding guest not helped by having a TV on in the bar with background music on too along with the noise leaking through from the cheesy wedding disco around the back. I do understand that weddings and corperate events is how these hotels in the middle of nowhere make money and don't mind it for one night.

To be fair the receptionist was right you couldn't hear the wedding disco from our room. And the room was quiet all night.

The staff I met were all friendly, helpful and credit to the hotel. Car parking issues aside, I am happy with the value of this hotel. I paid very little, expected very little but got a nice basic room in a nice hotel. You're not going to want to holiday here but for a night or two it's great.
