When booking it on the internet, I already knew, it's a low season, so not many people would be staying in the hotel. The finding was funny - for the first 3 nights i was the only person at the hotel - that's middle of October. Later some local travelling folks came in.
As my aim was to learn the kite-surf, this hotel was recommended to me by Tarifa Max kite surfing school owner, Mathieu - as this school has a small lounge and office in the hotel as well, i've got 15% discount.
39eur/night with a discount worked fine for me - nice Moroccan style architecture, you can get into your rooms directly from the garden, TV and air conditioning worked fine, clean, modest and nice place to stay, not depending on you travel single, or with your friend. Did not see family rooms - cannot tell about them.
It's directly in front of Valdevaqueros, probably the most famous dune in Andalucia, and you can get to the beach in 5 minutes by foot, just crossing the road, approximately ~500 meters. Straight
from the hotel on windy day you can see hundreds of kites, kiting in the sea.
The traffic just outside the hotel is not bothering, though it's quite heavy. No shop inside, and no restaurant/food during low season, just the bar and traditional spanish breakfast (coffee, toasted bread, butter, marmelade, etc) - don't know about high season.
Hotel is being owned by a family, so be aware - in the inner background there's a house, where they do live. Staff is fine, although does not speak other languages than Spanish, except the administrator - Bartolome speaks french, a bit english. He is a former motorbike racer, but after accident left that industry - you can chat with him about that for hours :)
Be aware - there's no other transportation to the hotel than taxi or your own car. The distance is approx. 10km, taxi to Tarifa costs approx 12eur one side.
