Loved it !!!! Perfect location. Lovely hotel bar where you can get ab fab food and booze which is cheap. If you are used to the Hilton then this isn,t the place for you, how-ever it is a very welcoming, family run hotel. The staff speak reasonable english and are extremely helpful. The rooms are adequate and we had no problems sleeping at night. There is a supermarket down the road which has everything and again cheap. Plenty of bars and restaurants along the sea front which is 5 mins away. No complaints at all. Met some luvly people who we will be staying in contact with. And for those that moan that the staff don't speak English then go on holiday to Skegness !!!!!!! It is one of the best holidays we've ever had. Having a reunion next year at the same place with some people we met.

We've just returned from a week stay at the Veremar. We booked a package holiday but the Veremar only cost about £155 for the week. It's a 3 star apartment hotel with a 24 hour reception. The apartment was clean, toilet rolls / towels / bed linen / bins were changed regularly. The reception staff were very helpful. We had a 'sea view ' inbetween the buildings and sky line but it is only a few minutes walk to the beach front. Location was great as it was close to the beach and restaurants etc and also right next to the highway, which meant daytrips / airport was easily accessed. We paid a £15 deposit on the safe key and remote control, which was returned. The pool wasn't very big but there were plenty of sun loungers and space to lay out on. We would stay here again.

Booked holiday through "Bookable Holidays" and got a really good price. First of all let me start by saying that this is an appt block as opposed to an actual hotel but they do have 24 hour reception. Staff were freindly and we booked in with no problems. It does have a car park so that is handy as the roads are very busy around it. If you are looking for 5 star then dont bother! If you are looking for a clean basic appt with bathroom, shower, kitchen & comfy beds then this is for you, it was clean and the towels and rubbish were taken care of on a regular basis. Had room 508 which gave a view over the sea (in between the sky and the buildings). The TV only had CBBC or Eurosport in English so dont be looking to put feet up in front of the TV, they also want a 15 euro deposit for the control which you do get back. Cannot comment on the food as we didnt eat there. The town is just a 15 min walk away and over the Christmas period they really went all out to decorate it. The main roads are just around the corner so you can hit the motorway and be in Gibraltar in no time at all. A large shopping centre and small resturants are also on the doorstep. The Zoo is 5 min walk away so a good base if you have children. All in all a very good place to stay....

Listen, in a 5 star hotel everything is perfect, in a 4 star everything works, in a 3 star bits and pieces don't work. Veramar is 3 star and good value at that.
"Basic" means something else - not a fully tiled bathroom, ensuite with bidet. Kitchen is small and clean (specially if you clean up after yourself!), yes there is no oven - and who needs a toaster??
Go out to eat there are great restaurants in Fuengirola - Sizzlyns, Marina Bar, Poncho's, Aroma , Las Viandas (there is a list on Trip Advisor) Fuengiola is fab. Watch the climate though! when it rains it is relentless (not the hotels fault). I liked the location.
Stay at home whingers if you cannot take it! Take my tip, 2 good reviews cancels a bad one on TA.
