“I'll be back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2011

Located centrally and right at the marina, this is a large seaside hotel that is well run. We stayed for 5 nights in January and I found staff to be both polite and helpful. Rooms are a good size and, as is the rest of the hotel, kept spotlessly clean [the hotel rating system in Spain is not the same as the UK so there is no kettle and the air conditioning is not independently controlled in the room].

We were on a half board basis and there was a good selection each evening – while some people may prefer to stay on a B&B basis, the convenience/cost savings associated with half board did it for me.

Despite being the off-season, the hotel laid on weekend entertainment. There is a [free] small cinema and importantly, there is free wi-fi at the reception/bar area which is ideal for staying in touch – just ask for the code. Don’t forget there is a happy hour – bye one get one free. The pool area is great.

For the independent traveller flying into Malaga airport, the hotel is very easy to get to - simply leave the airport building and take the train (currently 2.20 euros one way). On leaving Fuengirola train station, go to the roundabout – if you come up the steps it is directly in front of you, if you use the escalator it is behind you, about 20m – turn right and amble straight down to the beach, then turn left and the entrance to the hotel is two blocks along, with the entrance just around the corner.

“Ok Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2011

Stayed here on a golf trip with 4 friends. Hotel OK - large reception and lobby, good sized (but slightly tired) bedrooms - good housekeeping - variable bar and reception service.

Great location for groups of golfers (main source of business at this time of year along with the winter long stay retired couples). Easy access to many courses (less than 10 mins to Mijas for example) yet with enough bars/restaurants around to keep you happy in the evening.

Would I stay in summer - maybe not. Would I go back for a golf trip - probably.

“4 STAR ????”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2011

We stayed here for Christmas and New Year. Reception staff were very dour as were most of the waiters in the restaurant-one of which was nick named " the undertaker " and that was by some other guests ! The food got to be boring as the days went on -no fresh vegetables and usually fish veal pork etc. Good choice of salad ( can't get that tinned or frozen!) Whole fresh fruit was available but the on the ready prepared counter it was out of cans.
Breakfast was fine but the bread was often stale and the toasting machines were ancient and to get a tan on your toast you needed to put it through twice.
The towels were amazing though - you could almost get a sea view through some of
them ! also one had fringing- due to wear and not design ! Also the hairdresser has a bad reputation for overcharging although she does not belong to the hotel.
On the plus side the rooms were cleaned and serviced extremely well and the staff on these duties were about the only ones that were friendly and smiled The Christmas and New Years Eve meals were waiter service and the food was of a much higher standard.
Thumbs up there. We were at the car park side of the hotel so had no noise but people on the front said it was noisy due to the local clubs.
We were at this Hotel last Christmas and it has gone down since then and is now looking very tired - wake up call needed !!!
Warning ! I had my handbag snatched on the seafront so do be aware.

“good location- rooms a let down”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2010

we stayed in this hotel based on recommendations we got. All in all we had a good time and in general good experiences had.
Lovely lobby are, seems to be a really busy hotel... Rooms were a little disappointing and definately not up to the 4* standards but in saying that , they were spotless clean and housekeeping left it immaculate each day.
They noise from the street coming from the clubs below made it extremely hard to sleep at night.... Reception staff werent particularly friendly.... If you are looking for a decent place to stay in a great location this is a good hotel but nothing special....

“Great place to stay!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2010

Have stayed in this hotel on four occassions with family and also with friends. The rooms are spacious and well equiped with all the staff being polite and helpful. The location is excellent with bars and restaurants within walkin distance.Bars to visit The toucan bar rang by Bruce and Sue absolutely fantastic atmosphere with weekly quizz nights and the finest guiness in spain also you can visit Dylans bar Britannia bar,OBriens for all your sports tv and for something that you will remember the Jazz Bar. Restaurants to visit Aroma for that something special or estilo-argentine restaurant for the best steak in town. The hotel and location as i said is great but would not recommend in high season with all the brits on tour like any other tourist town in Spain. The location of this hotel is outstanding with the Marina opposite fantastic view and many tourist attractions to visit in a few hours you can even get to Africa and back within a day.
