Located centrally and right at the marina, this is a large seaside hotel that is well run. We stayed for 5 nights in January and I found staff to be both polite and helpful. Rooms are a good size and, as is the rest of the hotel, kept spotlessly clean [the hotel rating system in Spain is not the same as the UK so there is no kettle and the air conditioning is not independently controlled in the room].
We were on a half board basis and there was a good selection each evening – while some people may prefer to stay on a B&B basis, the convenience/cost savings associated with half board did it for me.
Despite being the off-season, the hotel laid on weekend entertainment. There is a [free] small cinema and importantly, there is free wi-fi at the reception/bar area which is ideal for staying in touch – just ask for the code. Don’t forget there is a happy hour – bye one get one free. The pool area is great.
For the independent traveller flying into Malaga airport, the hotel is very easy to get to - simply leave the airport building and take the train (currently 2.20 euros one way). On leaving Fuengirola train station, go to the roundabout – if you come up the steps it is directly in front of you, if you use the escalator it is behind you, about 20m – turn right and amble straight down to the beach, then turn left and the entrance to the hotel is two blocks along, with the entrance just around the corner.
