Any tips, yes stay well away from this dump. First room smelled as if the sewers had burst, balcony was encrusted with bird droppings. Moved to another room overlooking the pool, room clean, but again balcony not cleaned of bird droppings for a very long time, must be a health hazzard along with seagulls and pigeons always in the pool. The food is of a very poor standard. Who awarded this place 4* it should be more of a hostel, someone will end up seriously ill staying here. My husband and I had to eat out after staying here for one day and we were not alone. Do not listen to anyone recommending this place. God knows what they are used to.

I have never encountered such surly reception staff. Not once were we greeted as we passed by reception.....staff were either engrossed in their newspaper, or just not willing to look up and say "ola". When we first arrived, the lady took our paperwork, sighed, then disappeared into the back office.....we expected to be told there was no room available, or something, but no, this seemed to be her "normal" greeting..

We asked about going on a trip to see a flamenco night, but the guy on reception just said it would not be possible- "at this time of year, no-one will be going". Odd, the brochure indicated it was a year-round attraction.
Having booked half-board, the first evening's meal was a disappointment, so we ate on Fish Alley every other evening...great variety of restaurants, all keen to have your custom! And try the "menu del dia" - great value, available in many of the restaurants. We ate breakfast at the hotel, plenty to choose from.
Housekeeping of the bedroom could not be faulted, it was kept pristine. The room itself was spacious, and the bacony was handy. View wasn't very picturesque, though.
The hairdressers in the hotel looked a real blast from the past, and hilariously had a poster on the exterior window, advertising events in 2002!!!

Overall, the hotel was handy for town, and beach, just don't expect to be made to feel welcome by the reception staff.

We returned from 2 weeks at Las Palmeras on the 9th October. We stay at the Hotel on a regular basis and have found the staff to be very helpful. Food, There is a variey of food to choose from in the restraunt from Buffet to hot food. Yes it is typical Andalucian food but of a good standard. Rooms large with fridge and large bathroom. The Hotel is within easy walkig distance of the Train Sation and Bus Staion also near are some very good restraunts down Fish alley, Try Friar Tucks for superb Fish & Chips, Aroma restraunt, superb food, This year the Bar Le Tren was open with Paco, Antonio , Augustine and Christoper providing excelent service. Like someone commented forget the wingers , give it a try, you my be surprised but, email first and ask for a pool view. This year our stay coincided with the Feria at Torremalenos and Fuengirola. We take part in the Feria in Fuengirola and have a great timeat the Hollywood Bar then up to the fair, what a fantastic time we had. Spain at its best. read previous reviews so E.mailed and asked for a pool view thank goodness we did as on the otherside about 10 noisy bars open till 6 am. The hotel left us champagne in our room the first day. We stayed half board food and service were really good no complaints there .Some reviews state staff are rude I found them to be very plesant the maid did a fab job of our room everyday. We booked easy Jet excellant checkin and flight ,made our own way on the train for 2 euros .We went to many places on local buses or trains. Go to the zoo its fab.Nightlife : we got ripped off the first two nights by going to the bars opposite the hotel and on the front about double the price of the bars we found and really liked. Pogs to the left of the hotel and up a side street has live music 5 night a week its worth a visit. Shaggys in the marina is were we were made to feel very welcome and very looked after by Atilla and Kristina Its a small very friendly bar with a family feel to it with music and very welcoming .Would we go back ? yes there are loads of places we didnt see and would probaly stay in the same hotel
