our stay in the Veramar was great. 5 minutes from the beach, 5 minutes from the centre. the room was nice. fridge and cooker and a great view from the balcony. room cleaned every 3 days. downside was that there was no hair dryer but you could get one with a deposit from reception. service at reception, however, was very good and helpful. maps and leaflet info of the area not great though but that made the adventure of discovery all the more fun. would stay there again.

Plus points, very clean, staff friendly and helpful, negatives: NO AIRCON, NOT EVEN A CEILING FAN, BED WAS LIKE A ROCK! VERY VERY NOISY AREA! stopped here for one night after two very enjoyable weeks in another apartment NEVER AGAIN!

We firstly booked with On The Beach an me and my boyfriend was really disgusted at where we was put, a local Spanish village where know one spoke English!!! So after one day we took it upon ourselves to ring Thomas Cook to find us a different hotel. So glad they found us the Veramar! for a 3 star hotel its lovely! Lovely pool an sun loungers, Ok they might not be enough for the whole hotel but we managed to get one an we didn't come down sometimes till 11am. If you're thinking of going to the Veramar i would strongly recommend, lovely staff, clean rooms an clean towels etc. Honestly don't listen to the moaners on here, i'll be coming back there for sure!

My wife and I have been visiting Fuengirola for 10 years now but this was out first stay at the Veramar.

It’s basic but clean. We both found the beds very hard and had a lot of trouble getting to sleep. The kitchenette was basic and although we didn’t cook I’m not sure we could have done anything much at all with the facilities available.

Our first night was very noisy – people drinking on their balcony which got louder and louder, so much so that local people in the residential apartments opposite started shouting at those making the noise which led to string of obscenities being exchanged across the balconies - this must have lasted until 4.30am. The rest of the week was quieter. As our stay was towards the end of the season and I can only guess that this would be more of a problem in peak season.

The pool (which we did not use) looked clean and tidy. The restaurant also looked nice (but again we didn’t use the facilities).

We had 6 nights at the Veramar and it’s not a bad hotel but neither is it anything out of the ordinary You get what it says on the tin.

The Veramar is very close to the beach, bars, restaurants and to the town centre so convenient for all local amenities. There's a supermarket jsut outide the hotel so those who do want to eat indoors have products on their doorstep.

It’s not a place I would stay at again while travelling with my wife but if I was on my own or a boys’ weekend away then I wouldn’t have a problem.
