We stayed for one night arriving around 5 P.M. The woman at the reception had limited English skills. This created difficulties finding the hard to reach parking area behind the hotel. A simple map would have eliminated all the confusion and saved a lot of time. We eventually parked the car, checked in and were directed to a room.......which was not ready. By this time it was 5:30. So we trudged back down to the desk and were assigned another room, which thankfully was ready to be occupied. This is a modern building with nondescript rooms. It was comfortable but unremarkable. It was quiet, although this was not peak season and the hotel was not full. Off season Nazare has little to offer itself. It was a convenient stopping point while touring the western coastal region. This most interesting thing we saw was on TV. There was a 1950's film playing that clearly was shot in Nazare [we could identify landmarks] and showed life in the then fishing village.
