I arrived at annebrook to a warm welcome on a cold rainy Friday with my partner, we decided a break away was in order. The hotel seamed to be quite busy for early nov. We were processed promptly and warmly and directed to our room by a lovely girl with long brown hair ( her name escapes me any way a credit to the staff) the room was fine and what you would expect from a 4 star, we were recomended the old house restaurant so that's where we we went! we arrived with no reservation and were greeted as if we were regulars, a lovely waitress called sinead looked after us. The food was of top standard, the best we've had, scallop starter was the like you would find at Michelin level. My partner had the brill main and I the lamb, both fabulous and with rfee veg sides!!! we had a creme brûlée tofinish between us on the waitress's recommendation, beautiful and novel. We retreated to berty's bar for some great live music and retired in the wee hours. Embarrassed th say we slept out breakfast only to be told they served until 12 in the bar!!! The only thing we didn't enjoy was the drive home to longford. Will be back no doubt.
