“So welcoming, so helpful, such high standards!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2010

Stayed here on two occasions and cannot praise it enough. It is easy to find and a good place to break a journey from Dublin to the West. It is comfortable and well-run with good facilities and good breakfast.
On both occasions, we have found the advice of the owners invaluable. The recommendation to eat at Oscars in Mullingar meant we had a great meal, good service and good value. I was also recommended a hairdresser at Inspirations Salon and that was perfect too.
Marlinscourt B&B is a find. Long may it remain so and we look forward to staying next time we are in Ireland. Ros

“Clean, Friendly and modern.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2009

Our first night in ireland was spent here and we were both impressed and gratefull for the welcome and the modern and well equiped room. Breakfast was great, parking was on grounds and secure and the room was very comfortable with a great ensuite. The town of mullingar was both intresting and challenging in its traffic patterns but the town centre was worth the visit. At the recommendation of the B&B, we ate at the Druid's Chair on the main St .and had the best fish and chips I have had anywhere. We chose this B&B because of its location on the road to Donegal and its proximity to Dublin and have no regrets. We would stay there again with no hesitation.

“Lovely bed and breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2009

We stayed here one night on the way from Donegal to Wexford. A lovely couple who run the bed and breakfast near the town where there are plenty of places to eat. Our room at the back of the house (my choice) was clean and tidy albeit a bit small as it was obviously a family room with a small double and single bed but the bed was comfortable and there was everything we needed. A good ensuite shower and toilet with nice toiletries. The thing that makes this bed and breakfast special are the owners who are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. A nice pot of tea in the lounge on arrival and a jug of fresh milk and teamaking tray in the room in the evening was much appreciated We took advantage of a lift down into town to eat that evening and got a taxi back, little things like that make all the difference. We would certainly stay here again. All the best to you both. Evelyn

“Great little place with wonderful owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2009

We stopped here for one night to split up a long drive to our final destination. The building is just outside of town -- maybe a five minute drive at most. It's really well cared for, nicely decorated, and very comfortable all around. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice linens, good breakfast. Rooms were pretty sound proof compared to other places we stayed (our kids were probably the loudest ones...) The owners, Larry and Barbara, lived in New York for a number of years before returning to Ireland, so we had a lot to talk about. They have a play set in the back yard that was perfect for our kids to burn off a little energy. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice a time we had here.

“delightful hosts- great atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2009

My partner and I chose Mullingar as a last stop between the west coast and the Dublin airport .We found this b and b delightful. The hosts, Barbara and Larry ,helped up get on a local golf course for one last round! When we came home, they were grilling in the back courtyard and invited us to throw on some steaks and join in. We had an early flight and Barbara had left a wonderful breakfast to go for us.This was a great find and a terrific value. We would definintely go out of our way to go back.
