We had booked the weekend deal with dinner and then decided to upgrade to the Presidential Suite, having heard great things about the hotel and the suite in particular from friends. Overall, our experience in the hotel was great- the staff in general were warm and welcoming, the room was large and luxurious as I had expected, the pool facilities were excellent and really added to our stay, and the food in both the bar and restaurant was delicious.
However, we realised on the first night that our room was above the bar and that there was live music each night at the weekend, which could be heard clearly and loudly in our room. I feel like we should have been advised of this when we booked the room as it really took away from our stay. On the Saturday night, the music and shouting went on until 4am, which we found to be completely unacceptable as neither of us could sleep during it. We rang reception to complain at about 3am but nothing changed. We mentioned it at our check out the next morning and although the staff member apologised, she glossed over the matter entirely. I feel that people who book this suite (Room 304) should be warned and advised that there could be noise in their room. If we had been warned of this, we may not have upgraded, especially seeing as it was an extra cost.
Room Tip: Ask if your room is above the bar, especially if you're planning a weekend break......very very...
