Warwick and Anne O'Hara are the lovely hosts, and they made us feel welcome and at home upon our arrival. Warwick brings a lot of family history to the task - his family has owned the estate since around 1859, and the family portraits trace the decades. The house is not modern (I think a prior reviewer may have used the term “faded elegance”), but we were not looking for shine-and-sparkle; personality, atmosphere and character are much more interesting to us, and Mornington did not disappoint. We enjoyed one dinner in the spacious dining room under the glow of lit silver candelabras, and the food was of gourmet quality. Our breakfasts were similarly wonderful. It was our good fortune that Mornington was not busy at the time of our visit, so our hosts had time to spend with us to chat and offer local commentary and advice. In a nutshell, we consider our visit there to have been a treat.
