“The Most Amazing Place To Get Away With Out Phone or Internet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

If you want to ever just getaway from phone and everything and you are true country people. You need to check out Hidden Valley Guest Ranch. It is the most awesome place to go. The innskeeper are the nicest people you would ever want to meet . We are ole country people walks of life its not a motel or hotel. So you help yourself like you do at home. Keep It clean. and if you need towels all you have to do is tell them. Think you take reservations and clean cabins keep all linens and towels clean that takes time alot of time. If someone truely loved this place I would pitch in elbow grease or money and I think it is only going to get better the weather most of this winter was bad they could not hardly do much to bring it up. So go check it out at Hidden Valley Guest Ranch

“romantic and peaceful”

I really enjoyed it. The road wasnt to bad, theywere trying to maintain it. It is although a mountain cabin road. The cabins were great. A beautiful veiw off the mountain. They are under new management and tryed to be as accomadating as possible. even let us use a vehicle. Im sure the place is going to be alot better in the future.

“Our Christmas Weekend!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2010

When we arrived @ check-in we were a little skeptical especially after reading the bad reviews. We were met by the lady doing reservations. Inside the "office" was apparently the tack room also. Dirty and not invitational for guests. On our way to the cabin "Double Wedding Ring", we noticed all of the barns, etc had been let go and not maintained. There is alot of potential in this place if it were to be fixed up. After entering the cabin it was clean and tidy. They had a Christmas tree decorated for us and the banister had lights also. It was a nice touch. Luxury is not the word we would use to describe but comfy and secluded. The kitchen had some items useable but wasn't a fully stocked kitchenette. Non matching dishes in cabinets was not an important issue for us. They had the table set nicely with matching china and champagne flutes and oil burning lantern. (We used paper ware since I was the dishwasher) LOL. If you are looking for luxury in a cabin this would not be the one to stay in. Just to get away and don't mind down ( I mean really down) to earth surroundings then this would probably work for you. We were never bothered by the inn keepers or anyone else.

“Gone Downhill”

The first time we stayed at Hidden Valley in 2004 it was a lovel,y well run, beautifully maintained place. Over the last few years every time we have noticed a slow decline in the caretaking. After our last stay we won't be back. The checkin site was filthy and smelly. I know it's in the barn area but even animals should not have to put up with this kind of clutter and smell. The bridge to the cabins is scary! I was terrified at every crossing. Roads were not to bad though and we had no trouble getting to our cabin. The cabin we stayed in was only surface clean. Rugs could have used a cleaning and couch needed to be vacumed under the seat cushins. Bathroom and tub was clean but when we turned the jets on in the tub it had not been rinsed properly after previous use and needed to be cleaned again before I was comfortable using it. The linines on the bed while clean were very cheap and rough, not the high quality linines we remembered from former stays. Kitchen area was clean, but very few dishes and glasses none of which matched. This is a great place that has been allowed to go downhill. Hate to say it but it is just no longer worth what is being charged. maybe new caretakers can come in and reverse the damage before it is to late.

Just to let everyone know we have been painting all our barns. We have painted some of the fence's and hopefully soon we will be doing some work on the bridge. We have also been doing some stuff to our cabin's.

“Don't Go!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2010

Went to get away for work and family. Ended up cleaning and buying supplies. The people running this beautiful place are JUST DOING THERE JOB they do just enough to just get by. Jacuzzi and ceiling leaked, roads leading to cabins are horrible. Don't take your car take a jeep or suv. Bad news for our Lexus..The cabins are wonderful just not taken care of.
