The first time we stayed at Hidden Valley in 2004 it was a lovel,y well run, beautifully maintained place. Over the last few years every time we have noticed a slow decline in the caretaking. After our last stay we won't be back. The checkin site was filthy and smelly. I know it's in the barn area but even animals should not have to put up with this kind of clutter and smell. The bridge to the cabins is scary! I was terrified at every crossing. Roads were not to bad though and we had no trouble getting to our cabin. The cabin we stayed in was only surface clean. Rugs could have used a cleaning and couch needed to be vacumed under the seat cushins. Bathroom and tub was clean but when we turned the jets on in the tub it had not been rinsed properly after previous use and needed to be cleaned again before I was comfortable using it. The linines on the bed while clean were very cheap and rough, not the high quality linines we remembered from former stays. Kitchen area was clean, but very few dishes and glasses none of which matched. This is a great place that has been allowed to go downhill. Hate to say it but it is just no longer worth what is being charged. maybe new caretakers can come in and reverse the damage before it is to late.

Just to let everyone know we have been painting all our barns. We have painted some of the fence's and hopefully soon we will be doing some work on the bridge. We have also been doing some stuff to our cabin's.
