POSITIVES
Pleasant and efficient reception staff. The room and bathroom and living room/kitchen (where the kids had a bed setee) were very sizable. The Chateau itself was beautiful outside - in a quiet location with lovely views of the valley. Outdoor pool and also an indoor pool. The boys loved a session of golf practice in the driving range within the grounds. The restaurant served an expensive but lovely evening meal. Junior restaurant staff were good (but not the 'seniors'!)
NEGATIVES
The room decor wasn't particularly tasteful / appealing. (also, vaccum cleaner and ironing board stored in corner of room - strange?). 10E was quite steep for only 20 balls in driving range. Evening meal was somewhat spoilt by the brusque manner of the maitre d' (note, the 'juniors' were great!!). She was initially very slow in taking any attention and allocating us a table and then we were then completely ignored for about 20 mins. Our apertif order was taken only after we asked a junior waiter, who promptly took our order and delivered immediately. This efficient junior was then sharply scolded publicly by the maitre d', for pouring our son's soft drink in the 'wrong' way!! Continental buffet breakfast (additional 15E per person) was an overall disappointment and not of the standard one would have expected from what's considered a high class establishement (dry scrambled eggs, machine coffee not fresh, long life croissants rather than fresh etc.).
