AVOID THIS DUMP

This motel was by far the worst we have stayed in during our two week road trip. We have stayed in other Days Inn's that were nicer than some ritzy hotels we have stayed in. The room we are in had hair in the bathtub, dead bugs and hair in the drawers, the carpets made our feet black in 20 minutes, the phone base had dirt in it and when I tried to use it I had to hold the cord to keep it from falling out, there was food in the refrigerator from prior guests, the sheets on the bed had holes in it, there were TWO DEAD cats in the parking lot, etc.

A sign at the desk and the clerk both adamantly urged you to keep your door closed because of bugs, yet they had an outdoor pool and the door had cracks wide enough to see daylight on the other side. The pool was FULL of live bugs (water bugs, beetles, etc.) and we smelled no chlorine, which made us wonder if the pool was even sanitary.

We didn't notice how filthy the place was until looking at the pool and investigating the room. When we went to the desk and asked for a refund, they said they couldn't because we had been there only one hour, which is true, but we didn't notice the nastiness until that length of time. She did offer us another room, but it was just as filthy so we just kept the one we were in.

“Avoid this Dump!!!!”

My husband and I were forced to stop at this inn to rest during our 20 hour drive to Texas. We wished we had kept on driving.

First, the man at the front desk kept reminding us that checkout was at 11am. Then, he argumentatively notified us that there are no rooms available on the first floor (we never asked for one btw). The inn was near empty, so i still don't understand that.

When we entered our room, the AC was off and all of the lamps were unplugged. Ok. Our country is still in the midst of a recession, so I can't blame the owner for trying to save where he can. Once we got lights on, however, it was clear that the owners were hoping that guests would not notice the filth in the room.

The box spring mattress was uncovered and clearly had a blood stain on the side.

The bathroom light kept flickering on and off. While in the shower (wearing shower shoes no doubt), I had to scream to my husband to play with the switch located outside of the bathroom. The toilet rim looked like it had never been cleaned. One of the hand towels was clearly used by a woman wearing foundation. So, why was it hanging on the rack for our use? Ick!!

It was so late that against our better judgment, my husband and I stayed the night and left as early as possible in the morning. Breakfast? Hell no! The front desk person actually had the audacity to ask if our room was okay.

My Husband Is In The Army and Needless To Say We Travel Alot. This Is By Far The Worst Hotel We Have Ever Stayed At. We Booked Through Priceline and Payed $74. Once We Got Into We Noticed The Refridgerator Didnt Work, The Microwave Didnt Work and The Toilet Didnt Flush! My Husband Went To The Front Desk To Complain and The Man Said He Couldnt Do Anything, Since We Booked Through A Discounted Agency We Get The "poor room". The Room Smelled Horrid, Nothing Worked, The Door Had Cracks All Around It, and The Employees Were Rude! I Will Never Stay At Another Days Inn again!

This is the worst motel I have ever had an experienced with.
Departed the Chicago area Friday September the 18 Th AM. Called in route talked to a man. He said he had plenty of rooms and we did not need a reservation, should have picked up on that. Got to motel after a 12 hr drive tired. Walked in the lobby and the female was so busy reading a magazine we had to ask her if she had a room she said yes, very discussed. I said may I see the room and she said "leave your drivers license" I did no other conversation. I took the key. I ask where is the room she said out that door and pointed. I looked an the door led out side. I said out the door? She said by the pool. Never left the desk. My wife and I went out and found the room, opened the door and it smelled like a wet dog it was horrible.
I went back in side and she was not interested in what I had to say. You want it she ask.
Needless to say what my answer was.
If may have been a motel that rented by the hour, know what I mean?

If you consider this place don't

“Pleasant Employees”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2008

I was trapped in the snow storm the night of March 7th. There were no hotel rooms available in Brinkley or the surrounding areas. I had been in traffic for 8 hours. When I arrived at the Days Inn the young woman at the front desk told me there were no rooms available, but I was welcome to rest in the lobby. Many other motorist came in and were offered the same friendly response. After sitting on the lobby sofa for about 15 minutes the desk clerk told me that they were opening up some rooms that had been closed for repair as long as the guests did not have a problem with this. She asked if I would like a room though the phone did not work. I assured her that would be fine. After tax the room was a little over $70. The staff was wonderful, the rooms were clean and the continental breakfast included waffels made by a staff member. Also there was a computer in the lobby where I was able to check my e-mail and road conditions before heading out the next morning. This is a no frills hotel but I would stay there again if need be. Thank you Days Inn staff for your hospitality!
