“Not again.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

My family and I stayed at the Baymont Inn in Brinkley. We were dissappointed in the condition of the room. The carpet was stained; lamp shades were all tilted; lamps next to the beds were unplugged and the outlets were hidden behind the beds. The wall next to the sink was patched with spackle but not painted yet. It was not in very good condition, but we just needed a place to sleep before continuing our 1000 mile trip. We rested well, but when we went to breakfast the area was not well stocked which is not really a problem, but when we asked for specific items we found that the clerk was not the most friendly. She was very agitated to restock and somewhat rude. There were many handwritten signs taped to the walls instructing guests to discard of their trash and not leave items on the counter. The clerk rudly reminded guests not to leave their trash on the counter. Most people realize that they need to clean up after themselves and those who don't are not going to be influenced by handwritten notes from mgmt. The notes seem to only emphasize the negative.

“Would NEVER Recommend-shocked that this was a 'Baymont'”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Pros: close to the interstate

Cons: Front desk staff was HORRIBLE, extremely rude and acted like they didn't want to do anything to help, they didn't even tell us where our room was upon check-in. Hotel is OLD and DIRTY. The carpets are so soiled and stained that I refused to walk without shoes even in our room (I had to stand on towels in the bathroom and a wash cloth in the shower) There were holes in the wall and brown tape in the banister (no elevator, enjoy carrying your luggage and small child up the stairs after a long road trip) When we pulled up in the back parking lot so we were closer to the entrance to the stairs the hotel smelled of gas and there was a noticeable hissing sound coming from the gas meter. The noise level in the hotel was excessive, I heard a man yelling and cussing inside his room and could hear several TV's in the hallway and into our room. I was VERY unhappy with the condition of the beds and bedding. Honestly, I cried having to stay the night in this hotel. I sent my husband to get a refund and had to change my mind when our 2 year old daughter fell asleep on the bed (on top of one of our blankets from home---I didn't want her sleeping on the nasty looking bedding) The clientele at this hotel was sketchy as well, I utilized the chain on the door, the deadbolt AND propped the ironing board against the door as I did not feel safe here.
My husband and daughter went swimming in the morning while I packed our bags and got ready for the day. About 10 am I heard the door click and thought they forgot something, I turned to the door in time to see it slam shut. SOMEONE CAME INTO OUR ROOM WHILE I WAS STILL LAYING IN BED!!!!!!! (no one announced themselves so I am not sure if it was housekeeping, another guest or even someone who wanted to see if there was anything worth stealing since they could assume no one was in the room-the indoor pool is right by the check in desk so they could have noticed my husband was not in the room)
I would NEVER recommend this to place to anyone and I am shocked at the condition of this Baymont Inn and the lack of respect and customer service as I expected much more from this 'brand' I have never been more disgusted with a hotel experience.

Room Tip: Don't bother staying here

“Probably the best option for Brinkley but...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

My dad, sisters and I spent the night here before going wedding dress shopping at Low's bridal. Although we didn't have high expectations, we were diappointed in the overall cleanliness of the room and hotel. Poorly ventilated rooms and subpar linens made it a trying night. That said, I'm not sure it's particiarly worse than some of the other hotels I eyed while driving through town.

“Old but clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

We had just driven through one hour of heavy insects..not on the freeway.. and were happy to come upon Brinkley. We choose the Baymont Inn over the other ones at this exit because we had stayed at one a few years back. The hotel was well used but was clean. The hot tub was not working. The carpet had stains on it Overall ,I would stay there out of the other choices at the exit.

“Beware of poor clerk and manager support”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2011

30 miles west of this location I called asking for directions off the interstate. Told there were rooms, the clerk (Lana) told me to go in the opposite direction that put 2 miles more in to my trip. Arriving/check-in was fair as not overly busy. No internet access meant struggling for 45 minutes to gain access at 10:30 pm. Chose to turn off the lights at 11:30 only to be woken at 12:30 again at 1 and until nearly 2 a.m. with noise in the hallway from loud talking to slamming of doors. 2:00 a.m. TV in next door room was blaring. 2:30 it stopped but started again at 3 a.m. Carrol at front desk when called stated she could not leave the desk. 3:15 I am in lobby looking to check out to find Carrol sitting on her kiester on a lobby couch watching a TV movie. My surprise and statement of "you can sit on the couch watching TV but can't help a customer" was met with "you can't talk to me that way". I did not curse this clerk...just stated my irritation and asked for my money back. Carrol refused. I asked for a business card for a manager. She complied with card having poor email address as my note came back undelivered 1 hour later when voicing my complaint. I called local police who went to the room, finding the occupant asleep. Officer came back to the desk asking Carrol to call the room and the patron woke up and turned the TV off. It was NOT my responsibility to knock on the door next door. I stopped at this motel expecting to get quality service. Waiting in the lobby at 7 a.m. for the manager to appear, it NEVER HAPPENED and at 7:45 I left. By this time, I had been awake on/off since 1 a.m. with 450 miles left to go on my trip.

A solid 5 days after my visit to Brinkley, I have not gotten one courtesy call from managment at Brinkley nor corporate. All state they have to allow sufficient time for review. Bottom line is a good paying customer, expecting simply a good nights lodging has been met by a callous, inconsiderate front desk person who left with no reprimand will certainly treat others in the same manner. It was unfair that Carrol would sit on her rear end watching a movie when a paying customer was asking for assistance.

I would NOT recommend now or in the future the Baymont Inn at Brinkley, AR and in fact with the over 60,000 miles I logged in 2010 at which point I have stayed at many forms of lodging, the experiene at this motel has "tainted" my view of Baymont Inn and Suites and all its affiliates.

Some would say you get what you pay for! As consumbers we expect fair treatment and due recourse. At this time I have nothing good to say regarding that facility and if left without a follow-up from Baymont Inn or the Wyndham group, future consumers need to be aware!

Room Tip: Look anywhere but at Baymont Inn and Suites
