30 miles west of this location I called asking for directions off the interstate. Told there were rooms, the clerk (Lana) told me to go in the opposite direction that put 2 miles more in to my trip. Arriving/check-in was fair as not overly busy. No internet access meant struggling for 45 minutes to gain access at 10:30 pm. Chose to turn off the lights at 11:30 only to be woken at 12:30 again at 1 and until nearly 2 a.m. with noise in the hallway from loud talking to slamming of doors. 2:00 a.m. TV in next door room was blaring. 2:30 it stopped but started again at 3 a.m. Carrol at front desk when called stated she could not leave the desk. 3:15 I am in lobby looking to check out to find Carrol sitting on her kiester on a lobby couch watching a TV movie. My surprise and statement of "you can sit on the couch watching TV but can't help a customer" was met with "you can't talk to me that way". I did not curse this clerk...just stated my irritation and asked for my money back. Carrol refused. I asked for a business card for a manager. She complied with card having poor email address as my note came back undelivered 1 hour later when voicing my complaint. I called local police who went to the room, finding the occupant asleep. Officer came back to the desk asking Carrol to call the room and the patron woke up and turned the TV off. It was NOT my responsibility to knock on the door next door. I stopped at this motel expecting to get quality service. Waiting in the lobby at 7 a.m. for the manager to appear, it NEVER HAPPENED and at 7:45 I left. By this time, I had been awake on/off since 1 a.m. with 450 miles left to go on my trip.
A solid 5 days after my visit to Brinkley, I have not gotten one courtesy call from managment at Brinkley nor corporate. All state they have to allow sufficient time for review. Bottom line is a good paying customer, expecting simply a good nights lodging has been met by a callous, inconsiderate front desk person who left with no reprimand will certainly treat others in the same manner. It was unfair that Carrol would sit on her rear end watching a movie when a paying customer was asking for assistance.
I would NOT recommend now or in the future the Baymont Inn at Brinkley, AR and in fact with the over 60,000 miles I logged in 2010 at which point I have stayed at many forms of lodging, the experiene at this motel has "tainted" my view of Baymont Inn and Suites and all its affiliates.
Some would say you get what you pay for! As consumbers we expect fair treatment and due recourse. At this time I have nothing good to say regarding that facility and if left without a follow-up from Baymont Inn or the Wyndham group, future consumers need to be aware!
Room Tip: Look anywhere but at Baymont Inn and Suites
