“Too hot for coffee?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2009

The room cost $70 for two double size beds which we thought was reasonable for a comfortable night of lodging. The room was equiped with a thermostat on the wall to controll the temperature. The air was not on in the room when we entered. We turned it on and adjusted the temp settings. We left to have dinner. When we came back the room was still very warm. We went to bed using little to no covering. We are hurricane survivors from Texas so we can manage the heat. The next morning it got even hotter while we were getting ready to leave than it was the night before. I started to make our coffee only to find no coffee cups and just decaf to chose from. We departed sweaty and grumpy.

“Not good!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2009

We were on our way back home from New Orleans with the family, and looking for a place to stay for the night. We almost always stay at Super 8 on the road, as they are usually comfortable and reasonably priced. This one in Blytheville was not very good. The price was right, but the first room we got, the TV didn't work nor did the clock, so we had to get another room. My kids were in a room across the hall, and they had a couple of lamps that didn't work. We ordered a pizza, and I went down to get a soda, and the machine was out of order. They didn't have anything else to offer. The beds were ok for comfort, but the place was in dire need of a renovation. We went to get coffee in the morning for the continental breakfast, and the juice machine wasn't working either. All in all, they should close this place for a while and repair what needs to be repaired. It will give Super 8 a bad name.

“NEVER STAY HERE!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2008

The first problem we noticed was the dirty towels. All of them looked like they were just rehung to dry. How nasty! They need to hire new housekeeping staff & remind them to empty the drawers so new guests wont have to see someone else's clothing. Not that we would have used the drawers anyway, but still!
After that, I pulled the covers to find fine hairs on one of the beds. So, I stripped the bed completely to find a dried blood stain on the left side of the mattress! All of this is being found while management is on his way down to witness this FILTH. Oh and thats not the worst. The other bed had a large cut in the mattress. There was a mice that ran inside the mattress!!!! It even made the bed move without anyone touching it!!
We Demanded our money back. They better be happy we didn't call the health department in there. We captured everything on tape & camera.
Because we were attending a funeral, this just made matters worse.
As a result, we got our money back & went next door to the hotel that was brand new. The Hampton? No complaints there. Everything was worth the stay.
So, Just pay the extra money to stay in a nice place. You'll be happy you did!!

“UGH---run fast”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2008

If I had not just driven through a blinding storm late at night after 9 hours on the road, I would have turned and run fast from my room here.

I will say that the outside is neat and clean, as is the lobby. The staff was nice enough if not very professional looking. All the friends of the staff lounging in the lobby was not comforting. They were not a threatening bunch, it just wasn't comforting. Nor was the fact that my smoking room had recently been used, for smoking at least, and who knows what else. After I was in my room, I suspected this was the hangout of the cronies ("the remodelers" -- what remodelers work in the middle of the night in a motel???) of the staff person. What's more, even if I smoke and I request a smoking room, it should be aired out/sanitized/deodorized and thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.

Thick nicotine-covered dust covered outlets/plugs, the sprinkler, and a vent. Cobwebs hang from the ceiling. The sink backed up, and the toilet wouldn't flush half the time. Half the lights in the room didn't work.

The stuff I *did* see on the carpet and the rest of the room did not encourage me to take my socks off. Likewise with taking a shower--the rest of the room just did not instill any confidence that it was clean. Plus I would have had to walk on the carpet barefoot to go get dressed!

Also, high-speed internet access is non-existent in the room so I was unable to use my laptop to see how the weather was on my exact route, without relying on the regional overviews provided on TV,

Do not believe the billboard that you see on the way there that this is "new."

Also, I only managed to grab a cup of coffee to go and a bagel, but the bagel was not fresh at all.

If I had not needed this room for rest at that point and believe me I was apprehensive about sleeping in this bed after seeing the room, I would have immediately asked for my money back and gone somewhere else. And to think I paid nearly the same amount as a Courtyard in a major metro city is outrageous. My only regret is not having my camera with me to capture pictures for the company to back up my claims.
