“Nicest Quality Inn Ever”

I look forward to visiting the Navajo Reservation for many reasons, including staying at the Navajo Nation operated Quality Inn. It has up-to-date rooms, spotlessly clean, and the room rate includes a fabulous breakfast buffet with the usual eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, many choices of freh fruit, but also a touch of the Navajo with blue corn mush. In the Dine cafe, you can get everything from hamburgers or salads to mutton stew and Navajo tacos. I particularly appreciate the fact that the Quality Inn is located right next to the beautiful Navajo Nation Museum and on the other side, next to the Navajo Crafts Center. The gift shop carries authentic Navajo crafts. The decor reflects the colors and designs of the nation. All personnel are well trained and friendly.I appreciated the very quiet under window a/c--heating units. I wish they would get better shower heads and have magnifying mirrors, and you may be surprised that the rates are a little higher than you are used to paying for a Quality Inn, but this motel is head and shoulders above any other motels in that chain.

Room Tip: Get a room on the East for views of the buttes nearby. No elevators, so if you have mobility proble...

“Good service, great value.”

Excellent stay. The service at reception and in the restaurant was great; personal and efficient. The food in the restaurant was very good and the inclusive breakfast makes the room rate very good value.

The room was large and clean with a good table and seating.

“Great customer service”

I stayed here two separate day. I really liked the room - small but efficient, comfy and clean. I like the decor and rustic feel. The b-fast included is amazing...cooked to order & very generous, served by a ver nice and attentive wait staff. I loved that they called me after I checked in to make sure I was comfortable or if I needed any other assistance. Only down side is that they had a power outage and the wi-fi was not operating on one day. Other shocker is the amount of stray dogs. I breaks your heart. But that's a reservation issue, not Quality Inn. I would definitely stay again.

“Needs Upgrading”

This inn actually has a motel feel. When I entered the room, I was disappointed. I now understand why it is rated #1 in the Trip Advisor site...there are not many hotels in the area. The room was dark. Although I wanted to open the drapes, I didn't since I was in the first floor. Besides, there wasn't much of a view (I can see cars parked in front of my door). After reading other Trip Advisor Reviews, maybe I got an older room assigned to me... well at least it felt that way to me. Other than that, the people are wonderful!

“Great memories in the Navajo Nation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2011

I stayed here a few years while taking a travel course during college, and visited again the year after that. During the 2 week stay, my room was always warm, comfortable, and tidy. The staff were always pleasant. The restaurant was very good, definatly try the blue corn mush for breakfast! It's a local specialty/comfort food that you'll crave once you've left.

The farmers market down the street is pretty good, each day has different vendors offering things like herbal medicine, beads and freshly foraged pinion nuts. The store next to the hotel offers different crafts, cowboy boots and hats as well as raw materials for weaving.
The Navajo Nation Museum is EXCELLENT. It has a fine selection of rugs and baskets that will leave you in awe.

As for the wild dogs, I never felt threatened by them, and we actually adopted one as our own for the time we were there! There's also roaming cows and horses as well.

Staying in the Navajo Nation can definatly be a culture shock, but once you get past that you'll see these are some of the most generous people you'll ever meet. Remember to support the local artisans, and try to buy directly from the artist when possible. Your purchase will be so much more valuable when you can associate the story they told you with it.

That said, why wouldn't you want to stay here? It's a great hotel in a wonderful location!
