We were desperate. The Quality Inn in Sierra Vista was so stinky we left there in a panic and there wasn't another room available in town.
Our room at Motel 6 did not appear to have been cleaned, but only "picked up a little" since its last tenants. Little bits of garbage could be found in various nooks and crannies about the room. A coating of grime covered many surfaces in the room, especially the windows and windowsill. We asked the office to move us and were offered two other rooms of even dirtier appearance.
Apparently there is a central air conditioning system for this sprawling building, which does supply a generous supply of cool air. Unfortunately, this system also seems to suck up cigarette smoke and distribute it to all of the rooms, whether smoking or "non". Guess that saves on the high cost of buying your own ciggies, eh?
Sierra Vista badly needs a few more "decent" motels, since it is often completely booked by military-related visitors. Will some kind motel-builder take pity on us and save us from another night in Stinkyville?
