“Wonderful experience!”

Adobe Grande Villas have the looks of a 5 star resort but still accomplishes the warm feeling of a friends home. The grounds are beautiful and the private patio allowed us to enjoy the sunrise. The staff are extremely friendly and willing to help plan your daily activities. We hiked the most beautiful trail and never would have found it without their help! Enough cannot be said about Chef Michael! He prepares the most delicious meals and will often wander into the dining area to chat with his guests. An overall wonderful experience! We will definitely be visiting again!

“Fantastic!”

My husband and I went to the Adobe Grand Villas this past January and it was fantastic! The room we booked (The Timbers) was beautiful, clean, very spacious and romantic. The bed was made out of an actual tree but beautifully polished and designed, as well as extremely comfy - didn't want to get out! We walked into our room and there was freshly baked bread ready for us to eat and it was delicious, the smell was amazing. The hostess was helpful and the booking was easy. The spa was fantastic and the two fireplaces in the room were great, very cozy on chilly nights. The waterfall shower was really beautiful. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a romantic getaway. Sedona is so picturesque, can't wait to go back again.

“Highly Recommended!!!!”

An amazing place to stay. They were extremely accommodating and the breakfasts were delicious. There are food and drinks all over the place as well as dvds to borrow. We went during January and received a 40% or so discount. The rooms are immaculate and the French Quarter was one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in. Will definitely go back and highly recommended!

Room Tip: Wagon wheel was fun but doesn't have good window views, french quarter was very nice with great...

“Hidden gem.”

Stayed here for a short getaway. The hotel, tucked in a residential neighborhood, just off 89A, has an alluring charm. The rooms are incredibly spacious, beds and linens are wonderful, jacuzzi tub a plus, and the scent of fresh baked bread upon arrival is an added bonus. I had a little mishap while here and the staff couldn't have been nicer, especially Jaquelyn. The only let down was that the Chef, who everyone raved about, was out of town so I couldn't enjoy the private dinner. Breakfasts were wonderful, the ambience was great, and it was definitely a romantic setting. I sat by the fire in the lobby, sipped tea, and just relaxed. Loved my time here and can't wait to return.

“Splendid without a doubt, but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Adobe Grand Villas recently on a last minute whim. The rooms are pricey and not worth it only if you slice and dice the concept of value to the point where it's completely neutered. Of course $400 a night is ridiculous (actually, we received a discount for one night, and a larger one for multiple nights is available this time of year), but you can spend $400 a night at lots of places and not get nearly the splendid experience offered up by the Adobe Grand. There are a myriad of nice touches here, as many others have noted -- from the fresh bread baking in your room to the immense bathrooms with jetted tubs and walk-in showers to the wonderfully comfortable beds and the peaceful romantic ambiance. If you can afford it, why not? As well-appointed and comfortable as the room was, though, there was one incongruous dissonant note. Hung on the walls for decor were several distressed copper pots and pans. As decor these were fine, but they were hung *on nails* like in a dorm room, and you could clearly see the nail heads sticking out. Surely copper hooks or other appropriate hangers could be found!

OK, call me a nitpicker, but there is something about this property that is not quite "luxury." It is, after all, a B&B, and there's a bit of informality. So you ring a handbell in the lobby to find an innkeeper, and there are no innkeepers on property after 7 p.m. We had trouble with our TV around 9 p.m. and called the phone numbers left in your room for assistance. One was not in order and on the other we had to leave a message. To be fair, within 5 minutes or so, a gentlemen came to our room and got the TV squared away (we never did figure out if the problem was due to our inability to figure out the 3 different remotes or to a malfunction, but in any event, 3 remotes and no instructions will always be a recipe for confusion). While we were there, the wifi in rooms was not compatible with apple products so my i-pad didn't work (although my wife's netbook did fine). No problem -- you don't come to a place like this to watch TV or play with your Facebook. Or you shouldn't.

The buildings are not really villas. The property is more like "Adobe Grand Pueblos" -- 2-story tall structures, shoulder-to-shoulder winding around a lovely path. It's actually kind of a tight fit, but they make the most of the available land and the architecture works well. We had a ground floor room with a walled in patio. Upper floors have a terrace and perhaps there are views, but it didn't seem like the views would be an attraction (as they would at other places in Sedona). This is not an outward looking property. The rooms are the thing here -- private, romantic hideaways with just about every convenience you'd need. Indeed, one night -- which is all we spent -- is probably not really a good test. This strikes me as a place where 2 or 3 days are really needed to fully allow yourself to be embedded in the ambiance.
