The property is truly a gem in the desert. The rooms are spacious attractive and clean with plenty of drawer space. The staff is very personable, friendly, and helpful. The fitness room is fully equipped with aerobic and strength training equipment and is far superior to many fitness rooms in much larger hotels. The hotel has a lovely pool which we did not have time to enjoy. The hotel is connected to the casino which offers a large variety of slot machines and at least two eating options. We drove from Phoenix to this hotel and using the GPS provided by Hertz in our rental car, we had no trouble finding this hotel. As one other reviewer indicated, because the Best Western sign is not as visible or obvious as it could be, at first glance you might see only casino and not the Best Western.

We have been going to the Apache Stronghold for the past 7 years around the Labor Day weekend, this year was the best yet. Rudy the Starter has always been fantastic and has always had things ready for our group. This year the new directer of golf (Jim Lawrence) treated us like kings as the course was in the best shape its been in years. They are making a lot of improvements and upgrades to the course. And the hospitality is top notch, they made you feel special. The prices are very resonable and well worth the trip.

The hotel was good although the hospitality there was not as good as the staff at the golf course. they have one of the best fitness rooms I have ever seen at a hotel and the new pool is a great place to relax after a day of golf, and before going to dinner at the casino.

Over all it was a great experience, we look forward to returning next year.

Being enroute from Sierra Vista to Flagstaff, San Carlos seemed a good mid place to overnight so we prebooked a room on line and entered "San Carlos" in our GPS. What a tour! We ended up on dirt roads in the reservation before making our way back to the interstate and on to Globe where we asked directions and were sent 5 miles back east to the Apache Gold Casino which we had seen and commented on but passed by because the tiny "Best Western" sign was hidden behind the gas price and casino signage. Apparently the area had not at that time been GPS'ed. We do not gamble but the large, beautifully appointed room, good food and kind service made it worth the search. We would definitely return!

Once you have you Apache Gold Players Club card, just about every thing is at a discount from you hotel stay, your meals, even in the gift shop. On the weekends live bands, drink specials, very low price, no cover charge, music of all styles. The bartender remembers your face and what you were drinking. A convenient store, gas station, snack stand all located on the casino side. On the hotel, side of great fitness center, large clean pool and spa. Unlike larger resorts The Apache Gold resort/casino staff are very helpful and will to go that extra mile to make your stay as pleasurable as possible.
