“Awesome garden wedding venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We liked this property so much the first time we stayed here we decided to use them to host our wedding in May 2011. The garden setting was perfect for our spring wedding. They worked within our budget and our planner Rochelle was wonderful. The only downfall is that we chose an outside space for our reception instead of using the ballroom and we had to provide a canopy for shade. The food was wonderful and since we had our wedding in the morning and outside they let us have the space all morning and afternoon. All of our guests had the option to stay for on $59. What a steal for a room in Phoenix in May.

Stayed here again February 2012 because of the convenience to the light rail. My husband and I along with 2 friends had tickets to the George Strait concert and wanted to not have to fight traffic so we chose the Radisson. Check in was a breeze and the front desk clerk upgraded our rooms to Cabana suites...free of charge. Once again the room was extremely clean and had been recently updated. Brian down in the bar was great for happy hour..and he has a heavy pour. Check out the happy hour specials, they have a list of specialty martinis for $5. We love this location, sure it's off the beaten path and across the street from an adult bookstore but everyone is always friendly and pleasant and the property is taken care of and the best part it's 2 blocks from a light rail station. Catch it and enjoy a concert or sporting event downtown without the hassle or cost of parking.

Room Tip: Ask if they have upgrades. If they have Cabana suites they just may comp you.

“Good value & location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We settled on the Radisson because it was cheaper than some other hotels downtown but still off the Light Rail. We were able to walk to the hotel from the rail station and the area seemed safe. The room was clean and comfortable -- nothing special but nothing bad either. We were on the 5th floor, which also has access to the rooftop pool.

My only complaint is that the website said the two outdoor pools were heated. Now, I'm from Chicago and I swim in Lake Michigan so I am used to cold water. I know it gets cold in winter in Phoenix, but if you're going to advertise a "heated" pool, then you'd better deliver. The main pool was so cold my toes went numb after dipping them in for 20 seconds. The rooftop pool was about Lake Michigan temperature -- tolerable but NOT heated. It was still nice to sit on the rooftop and lay in the sun.

Thank you for your business and it was our pleasure to be of service. We look forward to your future visit. Out of our 3 pools, one is heated through out fall/winter/spring.

“Needs updating, remodeling”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

Requested a quiet room on a high floor, got a room next to ice/pop machine and elevators, on the third (there are 6)floor. Bathroom seems to be where management is economizing. One bar of soap for both shower and sink, thin worn-out small bath towels, mini bottles of shampoo, etc. When we arrived at front portico, saw irrigation system spraying all over the building and drive, instead of watering vegetation. Overall, TLC is non-existent and appears to be on its way to closing.

“Basic motel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

Had a great rate. It was difficult to sleep - either air conditioner was on and very load or it was off and the room was stuffy.

Needed more towels in the room - called the front desk and they told me I can pick them up myself (at the front desk).

“Okay but nothing special”

Functional hotel but rather tiered looks and decor. No sleep number bed in my room which was noisy overlooking the outside bar area.

Staff helpfull enough but will not be on my list for any return business trip.
