“Worst customer service from Management!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2010

I stayed at the this hotel because the photos online made it look like a brand new hotel.
when I pulled I was immediately taken back. It was not what they made it out to be. i checked in an had to ask for a wifi code that should of been provided at check in, the welcome letter stated that as a priority club member i would be given a drink voucher for each night, this was not given. While trying to sleep there was a loud sound in the room like some sort of generator that kept coming on every few minutes, hence I could not sleep well. The next morning I went down hoping to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi, well surprise, it was out of order. I called the front desk to let them know i would be checking out because of my disappointment in the hotel and they told me i would have to pay for the night. i then asked for the manager who came over and asked " whats the problem". I was stunned by this reaction and asked if that is how he approached customers again i got "don't tell em how to do my job". I tried to explain why i was not happy with the services and wanted to move to another hotel but he manager said your going to pay for both nights. i asked him why was he upset and he replied " Im not mad I have an attitude" he went on asking " am i done here as if I was a bother" in all my years of travel I had never received such a harsh rude and obnoxious response from anyone, especially a manager. If you want good service and comfort on your visit to Phoenix please don't stay at this place. you patronage is not appreciated.

“Nice facility, but questionable business practices”

I used this hotel during a recent business trip to Phoenix. At check-in, I was surprised to learn that I would have to pay an additional $24 to connect the phone service to my room. I chose not to pay, and didn't use the phone in my room -- quite an inconvenience.

Overall, I'd say that the Holiday Inn Phoenix Midtown is a nice enough looking facility, but has some questionable business practices.

“worst hotel in the west coast”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2005

I did a priceline bid winning $32 per night plus tax and fees for two nights. It was two nights too longs. Room in the back of the hotel, no ice in the ice machines, AC worked, but sounded like I was on a jet, room was worn and bathroom had cracks in the tile and had a look of back in the late 70's and had not been renovated since. Stay away from this place, it is the dumps of dumps.

“great place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2005

I booked this hotel through Priceline, and after reading a couple of negative reviews was a little apprehensive, wondering what kind of "dump" it would be (according to the reviews). I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to find that the staff was courteous and helpful, the room was clean and well-kept, as were the pool area and exercise room. It was a very comfortable place to stay, quiet on a Saturday night, and in a good location. If you're going to Phoenix I would recommend this hotel, and won't hesitate to stay there again.

“Not bad if you get a good online rate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2005

This hotel has a number of rooms which face a bare wall and have NO view; the wall is literally just a few feet from the window in some rooms. Buyer beware, ask for an unobstructed room or you'll be sittin' in the dark! Other than that, it's a decent middle of the road hotel if you get a good rate; don't pay over $70 on Priceline.
