As soon as you step into Hostal La Posada del Arte, you will know you made the right decision to stay here. It is a quaint hotel, adorned in local art, with beautiful rooms and dining areas. The owners, Jim and Marcia, are a warm, delightful couple from Chicago, who are helpful in suggestions for local tours, spas and restaurants in the town of Banos. I stayed in two different rooms, room 6 and room 5 - one of which had a fireplace and a small patio with a single hanging chair swing. Both rooms were extremely comfortable and had big bay windows with lots of light. The food in the restaurant was excellent, both for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast included in the price was fantastic. You had a choice of three different items, all of which were substantial and delicious.
When I return to Banos, I look forward to coming back to the La Posada del Arte and having a drink with Jim, Marcia and Simon (the resident dog). Don't hesitate to check out their brewery, run by their son and family friend, Tim, in town. Great beer and yummy food!

Amazing place, nice rooms, nice patio, nice views! People super friendly and food was excellent!!!! We didnt want to leave. Location was ok, not in the middle of town, so it was nice and wuiet, amd still walking distance from everywhere.

We returned to Banos for another Visit & chose the Posada Del Arte based on our last trip Dec 2010. We were NOT Dissapointed! Room #7 still has the incredible View of the Falls & you can still hear a Faint Whisper @ Night w/ the windows open.

FirePlace in Room #7 is Cozy & works well. Each night we had a nice intimte fire to warm us.

Breafast in the morning is Very SPECIAL & Included in the price. Fresh Juices Fresh Bread Mummmmm Mummmm

Dont miss taking a trip on the CableCar "Tarabita" a few miles down the Canyon @ Cascada De La Novia! For $1 its a Thrill Ride across the canyon or Down the Canyon to walk right up to the Face of the GUSHING WATER!

Dinner menu is Excellent & Staff Superb! Hosts Jim & Msarilyn always around to help with Questions etc.

MASSAGE: We found a Flyer there & went Blind. Its called "ENERGIS VITAL" WOW Top Flight Massage 1 Hr $25 A STEAL! 1000am-900pm Masseuss "INES" did an incredible massage. We tried others last year but this WAS the BEST! only coupla blocks away 12 de November & Montavalo Streets phone 095907174. Banos is a lovely little town, safe and quiet. La Posada has a great location, also safe and quiet. We also had the best breakfasts of our trip so far. however, what was disappointing was the welcome (or lack of it). having travelled in South America for 9 months weve become accustomed to a warm welcome and interested hosts wherever we have gone However, Marshia hardly looked up from the computer when she checked us in and despite being there over Christmas, there was not so much as a "Merry Christmas" uttered by either owners or their son. the longest converstaion we engaged in was as we were waiting for the taxi to leave when Marshia asked us about our plans and how long wed been travelling, all a bit late, We left feeling a bit disappointed
