I had a room just above the Van Gogh Cafe and overlooking the Plaza. The location cannot be beat. The car rental offices are within 5 mins walk. The Taxi from the Airport had no problem driving me to this location.Hotel is also a short distance (cab ride) from the Overnight/Long Distance bus Stand
The AC is the room was too noisy and one of those old boxy types. It was shaking and vibrating till I could not take it any more and had to get my room changed. The Windows are old and NOT sound proof. I could hear the traffic
which was quite noisy.
Considering this is Salta and the prices are much lower than Buenos Aires, the quality of rooms is not at par with the Tariff that they charge.
Pros: Great Location, OK rooms (which need updating)
Cons: Rooms need updating. Rooms have the cheapest possible furnishing. (It is almost as if there was a management competition, on which manager could furnish the rooms with spending the least amount of money).
The Night Staff were also quite unhelpful. Although most of their customers probably speak some English, the staff spoke no English. I do not understand how can a Hotel, which caters to international visitors , has no English speaking staff.
Summary: I am sure there are better values in term of quality, location, price to be found in Salta.
