I stayed at Inti Huasi on three occasions, staying in and coming and going from Salta. The staff members were absolutely excellent and deserve 6 stars out of 5, as does the asado (not just meat, but all sorts of grilled vegetables and salad and wine), which they supposedly hold Wednesdays and Sundays but really only hold on these days when there are enough people in the hostel. Considering the amount of foot traffic and people who choose to hang around the hostel (there's something very nice about it that just grows on you), it's amazingly clean.
Unfortunately, I can't give it a stronger recommendation because of the persistent amount of smoke in the place from both staff members and guests lighting up in violation of both posted signs and Argentinian law. The odor was so strong that on one occasion, after sitting at one of the very handy free computers, my shirt stank of nicotine within minutes despite the smoker being in the next room. Coupled with the fact that neither my bed nor quality of sleep were particularly good (it's not a party hostel, but a hostel where people stay who go to party if that makes sense), I can't recommend it unreservedly, although I'd like to, only to someone with a tolerance for smoke.
