From the moment I entered the hotel I felt like royalty or a spoiled celebrity. The hotel is gorgeous, the room spacious and comfortable with top of the line amenities, but first and foremost was the service. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable, happy, and welcomed. The hotel screams European extravagance but the staff exude such charm and attention you feel like you are staying at a quaint inn at times. We started our time in Buenos Aires across town on Calle Florida; taking in Puerto Madero, San Telmo, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the shopping and hustle and bustle synonymous with that area. We then moved to the Hyatt for a few nights in the heart of the Recoleta district and quickly realized we should have spent more time in this part of town. The botiques rivaled anything in New York and Paris (great for window shopping, not so much for buying), the cafes were full of locals, and the proximity to Cementerio de la Recoleta and the Floralis Genérica at the El Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. Splitting our time between the two parts of town also made the trip seem half Latin and half European.
When we weren't strolling around the neighborhood we were strolling around the hotel; the art is fantastic, there are plenty of places to get lost and find a place to sit and relax, the gardens outside are great for a drink, and the pool and spa a relaxing place to unwind after a day of touring. The pool was so relaxing we both fell asleep on the lounge chairs to the melodic hum of the spa music.
I can't say enough about this hotel, but I do think the one drawback is it's price. It's a great place to use your Hyatt points for free nights but if I had to pay for my room I might have experienced serious sticker shock. So Hyatt point holders, this is your place to get massive value for your points.
