We were very happy with our stay in Che Lagarto Buenos Aires- great value and extremely good location. Walking distance from San Telmo and very convenient for buses and the subway. The staff were really helpful and friendly, going out of their way to help you and they helped create a really chilled atmosphere. We stayed in a 12 bed mixed dorm and it was very clean with an ensuite bathroom that had 2 good showers, 2 toilets and 2 sinks. Unfortunately the fan was broken in our room for the days we were there so it was very very hot but I was still really happy with the room. The breakfast included was much better than I expected too- cereals, toast, fresh fruit, juice, coffee and cake. Would definitely stay again and would recommend it to others.

“Great location and amazing meals”
We arrived to the city without a reservation. the lady at the front desk, i dont know how to write her name but was Perina, was very helpfull and we stayed 4 beautifull nights with my friends. There was a burger night with a rock band alive, simply the best in my trip tru sudamerica!! thank you Che Lagarto!

Messed up our booking
Cramped dorms
Some of the staff are clueless
FILTHY kitchen (though you can't blame the staff for that) and nowhere near enough utensils
Well overpriced bar - even for BA
Think about paying a little more and staying in Palermo or San telmo main part

Very nice hostel! Clean and pretty sociable people. I was a girl alone in a dorm room with boys and had no problems. Enough for a stay un Buenos Aires. I'll recomend it to my relatives and friends

“Nice modern hostel in quaint San Telmo”
I really liked this hostel. It has more modern amenities than most other hostels in this area it seems. It's also close to the more hip and downtown kind of places I'm used to back in the states. Some nice bars and hidden pubs around here. Very cool. Staff is really friendly.
