“Make sure you speak Spanish”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2011

Hmmm, this is a tough one to review as the place has some real plus points. It's clean, nice room with tall ceilings, kitchen you can use and some good local cheap places to eat and a huge supermarket just down the road. The area is not fantastic but it's nice to get out of the touristic city centre, plus it's quieter.
The main problem with this hotel was the staff. It wasn't very welcoming. And as we didn't speak Spanish it really didn't help matters.
For example we arrived and the lady kicked up a fuss that our booking was not there. She wanted our confirmation print out. Since we're travelling we have no access to a printer but we gave her our reference number. When we asked for the wifi we were told we couldn't have it. It was broken. Then she came and brought us a glass of juice. ???
Breakfast was also a pain. We'd turn up at 8am as we had Spanish lessons at 9am which we told her, but every morning she seemed to not want to give us breakfast Which was only a piece of bread, some juice and a piece of fruit anyway.
In summary, nice hotel, just not friendly. You need patience.

“Clean room & very friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

I enjoyed very much my stay there. The room was small and simply equipped and decorated. On the other hand there was air conditioning in the room with a remote controller. I did like it very much. I could lie on the bed and turn heating on, change desired temperature or switch A/C to drying mode. The bathroom was clean, nice and modern. The room was cleaned everyday. It was equipped with a digital safe. Unfortunately I didn't have a good sleep there because it was quite loud at night. Breakfast was quite small. Wireless Internet was free but did not work very well in my room. The best of all was the staff. They didn't speak English at all but were very very friendly.

“Two weights... Dois pesos... Dos medidas...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

We stayed in this hotel on July 18 to 24, we booked 2 rooms at BOOKING.com.
I really enjoyed the attendance of Mr. Jorge that unfolds in 20 employees to please the guests. I liked Mr. Oswaldo too, that despite being quieter, is super helpful and friendly. Our room was great, namely Perito Moreno Glacier, number 2, and we have no complaints about it. The hotel has a mall (Abasto) and a supermarket (Coto) two blocks from the hotel.
However, It is far from the center, we need to use taxi every day, the area is sparsely populated. The rooms are very different each other, be careful when making reservations. I booked two rooms and one of them was very good (number 2) and the other room was the median (number 5) the door opened directly into the courtyard. The hotel organization is weak and they wanted to change my mother who is 64 years old for a room without a bathroom and more stairs to climb. The allegation is that the bathroom that is downstairs is exclusive to the room, but is not contiguous, the person must leave the room and down stairs to get to the bathroom. We had to beg for an employee named Vanessa, who not change my mother and her brother of room, since the site had no such information and they are elderly. I saw many people with problems with this hotel, they were exchanged hotel or the room. We needed to go to meet another hotel that customers normally are received because we would be exchanged, but that the hotel had no rooms. The name of another hotel is 11 de Outubro and it looks much better.

“Home away from home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2010

I stayed with my husband in the B&B spot for 5 dayes . The room was nice and clean. The bathroom was comfortable. The place serves nice diet breakfest and you can keep more food in the refrigerator. We used the laundry service that was quick and pleasant, with a fair price.
There is a computere for public use and wifi.
The people at the help dest were very friendly and caring but didn't speak english so we had to go to a turist agency for information.
The hotel is located in Abasto area near a mall and a supermarket . The transportation is very comfortable by Subte to the center of the city. we walked almost everywhere, not more then 50 min, but there is a taxi service near the hotel. There are good restaurants in the area.
in conclusion very comfortable and warm stay!
Enjoy!!

“Quite a gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2010

I decided to stay a few extra days in BA but my hotel was booked and the Vida Baires arranged for my stay at Spot BNB. What a lovely surprise. The area may be unusual but close by (2 blocks) they have a wonderful food market and a huge mall. You enter from the street level and you walk up quite a few stairs. It is a little paradise when you reach the main level. Our 2 rooms were large and had nice bathrooms. Hot pots with tea and coffee in the rooms. They will add a 3rd bed for a small charge. We had 3 in each room for a great price. Down the hall is a open air sitting area as well as an indoor sitting area with table for breakfast and a big couch with flat screen TV. Internet available in each room and sitting areas. The big inclosed room has AC when it gets too warm. The breakfast was fabulous. Fresh fruit, fresh squeezed OJ, 2 kinds of cake and toast with butter, cream, jam and carmel. yummy. The staff was awesome. When we left on the last day to the airport we left my 21 year old niece. There were tears and as I looked back I noticed the women manager put her arms around my niece and later I heard they kept her there for an hour helping her with her spanish and consoling her. What a dear. Also I met the owner with the mgr. Fernando I believe. Both spoke English and we very helpful. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience at your BNB.
