“Good value and great service”

We stayed a total of 7 nights at Lola House during December. All of the staff were great to deal with and were able to offer us a lot of advice to ensure our stay in BA was a memorable one. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Staying in an area that is not too "touristy" meant that we were able to eat at some good local (and inexpensive) restaurants. The local shopping area had everything you might need and everyone was very helpful despite our limited knowledge of Spanish. The subte was cheap and easy to use as well. The only disadvantage I felt was that, apart from the shops, restaurants etc, there were no nice walks to areas such as parks and gardens so you had to catch the subte more often than I would have liked.

“Feels like home...”

This small boutique hotel is comfortable, clean, and very secure. The staff went over the top to be helpful and were extremely friendly. They even allowed me a very late check out on the day of my flight out. This gave me the opportunity to shower after a day of sightseeing before my 10 hours of flying to get get home. I greatly appreciated that. The only drawback to this hotel is the location. It is in a nice neighborhood away from all the tourists, but that means you have a ways to travel to get to those sites. Fortunately, it is only two blocks to the subway entrance making this a minimal problem, but taking the subway with luggage during rush hour is just not possible! Nevertheless, I was traveling alone and felt very safe walking around this neighborhood in the evening. I stayed two nights at Lola House and then traveled for two weeks and returned for an additional night.

“Our "home" in Buenos Aires”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We had a "split" trip to Buenos Aires. Because of a delayed flight, we arrived a day late to Buenos Aires. Lola House welcomed us...a day late...and had a room ready for us to check in at about noon. After 20 hours of traveling, it was nice to have a place for a quick nap. The hotel room was high ceilinged, which made it seem even more spacious. The water for the shower was hot and the airconditioning cooled the room rapidly. We had just enough time to nap and get ready for our tango lessons that evening. We got back late to the hotel, and appreciated the security set up of the hotel. A good night's sleep, and we left the next day for Iguazu Falls. The Lola House had a great breakfast ready for us...including eggs to order, and stored our luggage for us during our three day excursion. When we returned, they enthusiastically greeted us, and handed us a key to our "new" room. We spent four more days with them (prior to heading out on our cruise) and had a great time. The staff was extremely helpful and truly interested in making sure we had the best stay in the hotel AND the best time in Buenos Aires possible. We spent a lot of time talking with Clara to learn about possible options and then refine them. On her suggestions, we had some great meals and saw sights that were slightly out of the norm...but fit our style. Our cruise didn't board until about 1:00 pm...but a late checkout was no problem. Overall, we really enjoyed our time in Lola House...and felt our stay there was a major contributor to our overall enjoyment of our visit to Buenos Aires. We would highly recommend the Lola House to travelers who like a smaller, more personal hotel, with personal service and friendly interaction.

Room Tip: We personally liked the downstairs rooms that open onto the small courtyard.

“Book it, you won't regret it.”

I am more than happy to recommend this fantastic hotel for those of you considering a relaxed setting from which to base your BsAs day trips. Lola House was our anchor during a 7 day whirlwind tour of the city and Iguazu, and given our experience with them, its no wonder they are ranked so highly on TA.

Aside from the large rooms, cold a/c, delicious breakfast, fast wifi, and the convenience of being only 2 blocks away from the Subway, the fantastic staff and their winning personalities really brought this place to another level. Always ready with advice or a simple smile, Andrea, Clara, Federico and Claudia truly went out of their way to make us feel at home. For instance, when we inquired where we'd be able to wash the several kgs of laundry we had accumulated during our previous trip in Patagonia, they washed them on sight and had them in our room the next day - folded! Furthermore, it is conveniently located among cafes, grocery stores, pharmacies, etc for your needs...try Las Violetas down the street if your craving something sweet.

This hotel and its staff were the perfect compliment to our wonderful trip through Argentina and have left a lasting impression with us. You will not regret staying here for your BsAs adventure.

Room Tip: Rm 105 is the largest with great WiFi signal strength and a terrific view down into the courtyard

“A Jewel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

A number of years ago Buenos Aires was a real bargain for the American traveler. Not so much now, with some hotels charging (and getting) nose bleed prices that put them at the top end of worldwide prices. Enter Lola House, a true bargain among lots of overpriced competition. Yes, it is located out of the high traffic areas (a plus, in our estimation). Yes, it may not have all the bells and whistles of some properties. If, however, you are looking for a friendly staff, comfortable accomodations, a location only minutes from the Subte (subway), lots of neighborhood eateries, a good breakfast and internet access, you've found it here.
Highly recommended.
