My partner and I booked the Oyster Residence for a week back in July. We booked this hotel on the recommendation of friends but mainly because of it's adults only policy (particularly important to us as we went during the school holidays).
Firstly the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are beautiful, comfortable and well equipped. The grounds and pool are stunning and perfect for relaxing.
There is excellent free wi-fi throughout the rooms and grounds so sunbathing whilst surfing is easy.
The location is fabulous, right on the beach-front and in the middle of all the action so you don't have to wander too far for shops, restaurants, bars etc. We had read reviews complaining of noise from the Help bar next door so were prepared with earplugs....however we didn't really need them (even in July).
We had a room on an upper floor which perhaps was a little quieter. The rooms on the ground floor with terraces are lovely, however, they are more overlooked and I did hear one guest complain that they had a few creepy crawlies wander in so we were glad of the upper floor. Also it is only a few steps to the pool area with loungers, hammocks, sunbeds etc. regardless of which room you get.
The staff at the Oyster are truly wonderful and really cannot do enough to make sure you have a great holiday.
My only criticism of the Oyster was that the inclusive breakfast wasn't the best...although we loved that it was served until late. They will make omlettes/pancakes/bacon/eggs etc. on request but they weren't very good and the buffet is a little limited. It was lovely to have my morning coffee at a table on the beachfront every day though.
We also went on a boat-trip that was organised by the Oyster which I'd highly recommend. There were around 14 of Oyster residents who took the trip which was much more civilised than the big boats with booming music that leave the beach every day. It was reasonably priced, peaceful, lunch was included and we had lots of room on the boat.
Also we had lovely meals out at the Buzz bar, Jade Residence, Toscana and Toscana Beach....all just a stone's throw from the hotel.
I very rarely visit the same hotel/resort twice but I'd definitely go back to the Oyster Residence.
Room Tip: Most people would opt for the ground floor rooms with terraces, but I loved our upper floor room wit...
