“Good Atmosphere, Terrible Rooms, Rude Staff, Food Poisoning”

We stayed at this hotel in July 2011. We accepted the fact it wasn't a 5 star hotel, but we expected better then this. We arrived at night and was greeted by one of the couple miserable receptionists. It felt like going through a rainforest to get to the room ( not good for hayfever). The rooms are very basic! with old floor tiles and a window which doesnt open, the beds are very uncomfertable, had a better night sleep on a floor. We was half board and expected to get a decent meal. They served olives cheeses and salads for breakfast with an occasional pancake if you was lucky. The view from the pool are was very stunning though overlooking the sea. The food in the evening was very minimal and all turkish so if you do not like foreign food i would advise self catering. The drinks were over priced it cost nearly £5 (11.50) in turkish change for a spirit and lemonade which is out of bottles and not tap which mostly tasted flat. The staff were a good laugh, one which we even went clubbing with one of the nights and have remained friends since. The women in the shop was very cute and a lovely person who you wanted to bring back to england with you, The receptionsists enough said about the. They were very unhelpful when we booked our trips and booked us the wrong trips and refused refunds afterwards, and also took a hole day to come to fix my room lock which didnt even lock in the first place! Towards the end of the holiday i was admitted to hospital with food poisoning and there was complaints from other guests that they was ill. If you stay at this hotel go self catering and be prepared for the rubbish rooms.

“Lovely location, poor accomodation!!!!!”

Me and my friend stayed at the Manzara in July, what can I say....

Good points
* Fantastic view of the mountain side and bay
* Lady in the shop, so nice and helpful
* Free wifi up by the pool
* More or less had the pool to ourselves, not sure where all the other guests were
* Lush gardens, with every type of fruit going
* Bar staff try their best, Osman bit over powering at first but we soon put him to rights
* Sheets and towels changed regularly
* Never saw the rep once

Bad points
* Miserable receptionist
* Rooms horrible, bathroom smelt, no chairs to sit outside (on a plus point some rooms were overun by ants)
* I expected basic rooms, but I wouldn't even give them 1*
* Smell of the chickens quite bad at times. Parts of the pool run down

Overall I would stay in Olu Deniz again but not at the Manzara

“friendly staff, clean rooms, gorgeous garden”

There are a few really bad reviews of Manzara on here, but my boyfriend and I went for ten days on 10th October 2011 (end of season). We had a great time, Oludeniz is really lovely. Manzara itself, is a nice hotel. The rooms are basic, but clean and the view of the bay is really stunning. The breakfast provided was traditional Turkish food, so if you're expecting egg and bacon, you won't get it. Personally, I go to a country to experience their food and culture. Considering that the hotel cost so little, it was a really good deal. We are already planning another visit next year.

“YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR”

I really don't understand what people expect - a bargain basement "Ronseal" of a hotel that delivers exactly what it "says on the can". If you expect luxury, obsequious staff and a piano bar, pay some more and stop posting whinging reports.

The hotel's position is breathtaking, the garden beautiful and the pool terrace and bar clean, relaxing, friendly and has tremendous views down the hills to the sea.

Yes the rooms are basic, the receptionist laughably grim and the bar staff can't add up - so don't run a tab, pay for your drinks as you go and you don't have a problem !

I would go there again and keep my fingers crossed that I didn't meet the "whingers" on the terrace !

Adrian

“SHOULD HAVE TRUSTED TRIP ADVISOR REVIEW”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

Have just been to Manzara Hotel half board, accomodation rundown, lack of cleaning and changing of bed linen, towels, etc unless you go to reception and complained. Ill fitting doors. Food okay if you like tomatoes, olives cheese courgets cucumber etc. every day for breakfast plus the odd pancake and boiled egg. a toaster appeared for our last day of 14days.
evening menu basic vegitarian with the odd piece of chicken, sausage, beef and what was called tuna, not all on the same day i might add. if you wante a decent meal you had to use the other menu which you paid for. Basicly book cheap get cheap.
Bar staff try their best and work hard to make the holiday a success. Pool requires a lot of care and cleaning which was seriously lacking and is left for the bar staff to do. Adding a few chemicals is not good enough when filter system doesnt filter correctly
Chickens are kept near the pool area, all though twenty or so feet below, but with temperatures in the 40,s the smell rises and cannot be desguised.
Hotel on a mountain side and on four levels with the pool area and restraunt at the top numerous flight of steps and slopes to climb, great excercise if that way inclind.
Every fruit you could wish for growing in the lush gardens, pears/apples/oranges/grapefruit/grapes/plums/limes/lemons, plus numerous types of peppers its just a pity they are going to waste and not used in the restraunt.
Location neither here or there a great local bus or taxi service but that adds to costs everytime you venture out you could walk if you wish to risk life and limb but in both direction you have very steep climbs one way or the other and unless you are super fit forget it.
The hotel is owned by one of the most powerful familys in the area who own many modern hotels and propertys in and around. They appear poor but are so rich they do not need to bother with this hotel. They own a construction company and with a little time and effort to repair the property it could be much better.
My advise would be, if you are on a really tight budget it will do. If not leave well alone and stay in one of the many other good value hotels
