My partner and I stayed at the hotel during the first week of October and thankfully the weather was still great! The hotel is basic but clean so provided us with a good base to explore Olu. We stayed half board but I definitely would advise against this as the evening meals were always luke warm and weren't very appetizing with only a couple of warm options to chose from. The dinner consisted of a variety of cold salads but i was wary of trying some things as you couldnt tell what they were and were not labelled. They had chips one night but these tasted stale and reheated and the other option was fish which really wasn't nice at all. Due to the disappointing food we only ate at the hotel twice and ate out the rest of the stay as there some lovely restaurants in olu and all pretty cheap. Would recommend Buzz Bar and Joseph's. The breakfast at the hotel was okay - consisted of cheese, olives, jams, and cereal.
Our room was near the back of the hotel and on the top floor which I would recommend as it was away from the bar area so not much noise at all and had nice views of the mountains. The balcony's were quite small but still big enough to fit a couple of chairs to sit out on an evening. It would have also been helpful to have a fridge in the rooms which The Tower lacks.
All in all we had a good stay at the hotel but unfortunately due to some of the staffs attitude we would not stay at the hotel again and opt for somewhere different. We always found the woman on reception quite rude and didn't seem to smile once during our whole stay! There were a couple of guys who worked in the bar which seemed nice but we didn't really stay at the hotel to drink as the drinks were very expensive!
There is also a rule where you cant bring outside food and drinks into the hotel which seemed a bit silly.
We would definitely return to Olu as its such a beautiful place but would chose elsewhere to stay.
