“dark rooms, but comfortable”

Stayed here for a work-related tour in Globe & Miami. The accommodations were adequate for the price. The room had really low lighting, but my room was clean and the water pressure was good.

The doors & windows don't do much to block sound... although this hotel does not face Hwy 60, so that is a plus. [When I stayed, many ADOT crews were there due to road work on Hwy 60, so the back-up alarms on their trucks were an annoyance throughout the night. But I can't fault Comfort Inn for that.]

All in all, it was reasonable for the price and had a restaurant directly next door which offered a discount if you stay at the Comfort Inn (also offers a discount if you stay at the Days Inn across Hwy 60).

“Rough stay”

Costomer Service can go a long ways and it is a lesson they will hopefully learn at this hotel someday. I have been coming to this hotel on and off for close to 3 years but will now stop. The management is rude and inflexible. Rooms are getting more run down every year with no attempts to repair things. Cracked tiles, poor paint job, and I think the same towels from 3 years ago, and sad looking fake funeral flowers stuck in all the flower pots around the grounds. Breakfast is a dismal affair-cereal (with no milk the first day), begals, danish, fruit cocktail, and cheese cubes on toothpicks. Yikes! I would not recommend this hotel, but the Days Inn across the street is very nice. Also the Super8 management is great!

“Acceptable lodging”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2007

The Globe Comfort Inn was acceptable and we had a clean room.

However, we did have a biling issue. The room we stayed in had a broken air conditioner so we politely went back to the front desk and asked for a different room. Fortunately, they had one available and moved us.

However, when I checked out I noticed that my Choice Privileges account was not on the bill and I had given the number to the check in clerk. The desk clerk would not input my number and said I had to call customer service. The Choice Privileges program awards points for stays and I typically stay at their hotels so I like to be awarded the points.

I thought the clerk could have gone to the effort to input my number, but she stood her ground and said no firmly to me.

Then I received my credit card bill and it showed TWO ROOMS on the statement for the same night. I contacted the hotel for a refund as this was an error. The clerk said she was not able to make this type of adjustment and could see where I was only charged once. I explained the room change due to the air conditioner and she indeed found that we were charged for both rooms--one under my Choice number and one not showing the number. Ahhh the problem identified--they charged us for both rooms.

The clerk said I could leave a message for the manager as it was Friday afternoon and manager would be in on Monday. I did not get a call back on Monday, so I called Tuesday and was told that manager wasn't there yet and the message was still there for them. Well it is now 2 weeks later and no return message from the manager. I will need to challenge this through my credit card for a refund as it is clear the management staff is unwilling to address a simple error on their part.

The room was okay for a roadside motel and the place was generally clean. I did not like the lack of follow up from their staff and management. I feel that over charging is serious business and the motel should make efforts to quickly resolve these types of issues. However, since they did not, I have to rate them low on service.

One good point is that the motel is very close to a very nice walking trail in Globe on Round Mountain that has forever views and easy to moderate hiking. Really beatiful. We enjoyed that we could walk to the trail from the Comfort Inn and that they had information about it at the front desk.

The breakfast was also nicely done. This facility would rate higher if they took responsibility for overbilling and also maintaining their rooms so they know when equipment is broken.

“Barely Adequate - not what we expect from Comfort Inns”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2007

Okay, we knew it wasn't the Ritz, but the word "Comfort" should be removed from the name of this hotel...we travel frequently, and often use the Choice Hotels brands, and this establishment does not measure up to what we have come to expect. The most interesting part of our stay was when I opened the drawer of the nightstand to get a phone book, and discovered that the previous occupant had left a holstered gun behind. Fortunately, the front desk called a few moments later to say that said guest had just contacted the hotel and that the clerk would be right up to retrieve the weapon and return it to its rightful owner. Good thing, as I had visions of the owner pounding on our door looking for his property... The room was basic, but since we were only staying one night after a long day on the Apache Trail, we thought it would be okay, and there's not much in Globe. In hindsight, I should have looked for a B&B, but since we weren't really staying long, we tjhought that a major brand hotel would be fine. Wrong...the lost-and-found issue was just the beginning; the rest of our experience was pretty bad as well. The linens left a lot to be desired. There is a "cute" sign in the lobby advising guests that they can purchase linens and pillows to take home - to discourage theft , I assume. The pillows were priced at $15. I would have cheerfully paid someone $15 to BURN them, they were so awful - small, lumpy, mismatched things, no pillow protector covers, just the pillowcase over none-too-clean looking pillows that had obviously seen better days. The linens were cheap, to say the least, and the bottom sheet on the bed was stained as though someone had drooled on it (I am praying that it was stained and not dirty from the previous occupant ...) The towels were small and skimpy. The curtains needed to be vacuumed or dry-cleaned: when they were drawn, thick layers were obvious. Unfortunately, it was late and we were too tired to drive any further at the time. In the morning, the continental breakfast was in need of replenishing - almost nothing available at a little after 8 in the morning. A waffle maker with no batter , some cold cereal, bagels (no cream cheese) little else. When I pressed the grapefruit juice selection on the juicec dispenser, nasty brown liquid that in no way resembled juice came out...no thanks! The breakfast area was in need of wiping down, as well. The front desk staff were too busy chatting to pay much attention...Fortunately, we had food in our cooler and made a quick departure, after advising the clerk that we did not use the safe in the room so he could deduct the $1.50 charge assessed for it (very odd). Never again at this location. (We had reservations at another Choice Hotels brand for the following day, and had a flawless stay, so it's the individual hotel, not the brand...)

“Clean Rooms, Great Service”

We were on a trip to see the mines that produce turquoise in Sleeping Beauty area and decided to spend the night at Globe. We had a decent experience at the Comfort Inn. The rooms were nice and comfortable, quite like the Comfort Inns that we have gotton used to.

The checkinn and service was prompt. Possibly the best place to stay in this small town.
