One of my sons made a reservation at this hotel because of the price. We were in a hurry to get to my other sons in Superior for Christmas Eve, so we stopped in on the way to look at the room to see if they matched the outside, which was pretty bad. It was very cold in the room, but the manager said he would turn the heat on for us. When we got to the room around 10:00 that night, the room was still cold. I looked at the ancient heater on the wall and it was on, but the flames were low. I tried to turn it up, but it was already on the highest setting. There was a thermostat on the wall that said it was 60 degrees, but it was set on 90. It never got above 65 degrees. My daughter of 7 and my granddaughter of 4 stayed snuggled in their bed. My wife was cold all night. I worried for them.
The next morning I did what you usually do in the morning, that's right, take a shower. NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER OR IN THE SINK! I sat on the cooold seat and noticed the blobs of caulking around the wall and thought "Yeah, the shower leaks out on the floor", which explained why the cheap peel-and-stick tile was seperating.
A couple of more things and I'll shut up. The floor was so unlevel, that when my wife got up to go to the bathroom, she started moving too fast and almost tripped! I also looked at the bed the girls slept on and the head legs were propped up with about 2-3 inch rocks to level out the bed. THIS IS ROOM # 3.
The good things about the room? How can you think when your shivering all night? My son which stayed in another room there told the Manager upon leaving about the heater and lack of hot water, but all he said was "I'LL SEE IF I CAN DO ANYTHING" and walked away. No apology, or anything.
