Anna’s Ptarmigan B&B consists of several basement bedrooms in a 2 story house conviently located at theNorthwest corner of Valdez. There are 3 private rooms that all share a bath. Everything is modestly decorated and impeccably clean. There is a small common area with a TV, but if you anticipate spending a lot of time in your hotel room, this may not be the place for you as neither the rooms nor the common area are luxurious. The B&B is located in a nice quiet neighborhood where many people seem to rent out their basements as B&Bs. The hostess, Anny Wilson is very nice and accomodating. She serves your breakfast at her dining room table.

The house is minutes to downtown (driving) and Ferry dock and boat harbor. It takes about 15 minutes to walk downtown from the house and it's an easy walk. A full breakfast is served in themorning.

I wouldn't recommend this for a romantic getaway, but it was perfectly adequate and comfortable for our needs (really we just wanted a clean, quiet place to get a good night's sleep) and it was very reasonably priced, especially compared to the other options in town (about $100 a night for two adults).
