I'm not sure which rooms the professional photos were taken from, but it certainly was not mine.
The photos for this hotel are misleading. My room had malfunctioning toilet which had a broken flush handle. The toilet was yellowed from years of use and should have been replaced years ago. The carpets seemed dirty and the was no carpet edging, making it easy to trip. The were no bedside lamps which I expect should be standard for any hotel. I felt like I was back in the 70s which may be when this hotel was in its prime.
I'm giving the hotel the benefit of doubt in that the week I got there ALL hotel rooms were full and I got what would be considered the "overflow" room.
On the positive side, The bed was comfortable, and the staff in every part of the hotel, (from reception, breakfast staff and the cleaning staff) was all very friendly, helpful when needed and courtious.
The buffet breakfast was also delicious.
The swimming pool has very odd hours of 9-6pm
The hotel is located very close to the water which is nice if you like to wander about this district. Also it near a Souq market.
If you do stay here .. you have to try the buttered nan at the CurryHouse Resturant just down the alley from the hotel. ... So superb!
