Spent 6 days in this hotel. Had the front room for the first two nights but it really is too noisy with the traffic outside starting early and i heard it through my ear plugs and it also woke up my parnter who is a heavy sleeper. We then moved to the back rooms for the remaining 4 nights and they are much quieter. The rooms at the back are quite small and dark but comfortable and quiet - the rooms on the front are very nice but the noise is a problem. There are other rooms in the main hotel complex that don't face the road these might be better than the rear outside rooms. The room rate is good about 90e per room per night and bfast about 5e pp per night. Breakfast is fine we ate there each of the days and is quite ample and good value. We also ate in the restaurant a few times - the set menu is great value - 3 courses + a drink for €15 during week or €20 at the weekends (avoid the veal - very very fatty!). Ask for the set menu in English - they do
have one although they couldnt find it one night. As in most of Avila, shops, restaurants, tourist attractions etc very very little english is spoken. The reception staff have english and the restauarnt staff a few words - the tall guy in the restaurant is nice and friendly. Parking is free nearby but the free parking during the summer could be difficult but
there is a public lot nearby at about €10 per day. Avila is a good base for a few days - will return. Free wifi covered the whole complex.
