“Just perfect”

Thai binh is simply a great little hotel! Nam Hong did everything he could to ensure we had a great stay and went to all lengths to help us. Even had the electric blanket on for us on arrival! The rooms are very nice and warm and the entrance is a great place to hang out with a fire to warm up by. A great little place and if I was coming back to sapa I would only stay here!

“Would return in a flash ...”

We spent 2 nights here over New Year. The owner, Nam Hong, has worked flat out to renovate this hotel; a few bits and pieces still needed doing while we were there, but that in no way diminished the quality of our stay, although Nam was hugely apologetic and even offered to house us in his parents' B&B while workmen were drilling. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with electric blankets and a portable heater. The bathroom was well-equipped with a decent-sized shower, although the water pressure can be variable. The breakfast of a whacking great omelette and baguette represented breakfast heaven for me, so I've no idea if there were other choices! It was served in the main reception room downstairs, in front of a roaring log fire. Nam has lived in New Zealand and speaks prety good English; he was very helpful, arranging our train travel from Hanoi, taxis to and from Lao Cai (ensuring that the drivers knew we wanted to stop for photos), and places on a trip to Bac Ha market. Although the Thai Binh Sapa doesn't benefit from the spectacular views of other hotels (not that we saw any, due to thick fog!), the location is quiet and convenient, the hosts are pleasant and attentive, the accommodation is clean and comfortable, and represents excellent value for money. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel, and would certainly stay here again.

“Great value, beautiful clean rooms”

We got adjoining double rooms for $45 total. Great deal- maybe an off-season thing. Great value as the place is clean and spacious. Rooms are very nice- one of the rooms has a fireplace (not sure if it works.) Located in front of the ticket office for one of the main walking trails, and two minute walk to other attractions. Tv doesn't have cable but it's too nice to watch tv here. Heaters in the rooms and nice showers. One shower only had warm water, the other was great.

“Great little hotel in town”

We recently stayed at the Thai Binh Sapa Hotel. Just reopened after renovation, everything is in tip top shape and the manager, Nam Hong, is extremely helpful with anything you might need - we wanted to change our train tickets and Nam organised it all for us. There's a nice cosy log fire in the lobby, and electric blankets on the beds. Rooms are clean and modern, and hopefully by the time you get there there the cable TV will be installed (local TV available). Perfect for winter visits, when it is quite chilly. Location is excellent - just a few steps from the main street or the church. I highly recommend this hotel!

“Perfect place to stay in Sapa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Newly renovated Thai Binh is an ideal place to stay in Sapa. Convenient quiet location, clean well furnished rooms, excellent bathrooms and toilets, friendly helpful staff..
An all in one package..
The rooms were spic n span .. the electrically heated blankets made the atmosphere were cozy during the blistering cold nights...
The staff also helped us arrange for day trips to Cat-Cat, Bac Cha, Ma Cha and Taphin Village. They were very kind enough and accomodative, allowed us let us checkin early and check-out few hours late.. The rooms are also moderately priced..
Will recommend all to opt for Thai Binh at Sapa.
