When you check hotel facilities, you look for air conditioning, bath, shower, etc. I've always assumed there would be heating and plenty of hot water. In future I'll know better.
While they can't do anything about the weather in Sapa: cold & damp at this time of year, it would be easy to provide room heaters to complement the miserable charcoal burner in the dining room. Worse still, water is is only heated from 09:30 to late afternoon, so don't expect a hot shower when you get up or go to bed.
In your room, breath condenses when you exhale, and gloves are useful if you want to read comfortably. There is one redeeming feature: most beds have electric blankets.
Decor is worn out, wiring is chronic, dining room ceiling leaks, basins drain onto the dirty bathroom floor, a second cup of coffee in not included in the breakfast deal...
Avoid the Mountain View hotel.
