I have no idea who and why built such a hotel in such a small town. There is not much to be seen in Loei, however if you travel across Isaan province (the northeastern part of Thailand) it is a good place to stay for a couple of days. Loei Palace hotel is a large building (I guess approx. 200 rooms), with a large ballroom, conference rooms, etc. Actually during our stay I think 10% of rooms were occupied... no-one in the swimming pool, etc. It was high season.
The hotel is OK, looks like 60-70ies and I think it has not been renovated since. It is clean, the service is good, so not much to complain about... maybe the breakfast, which was just too basic.

Average hotel with great service, good rooms, good location, but had some bed bugs. They were nice enough to switch me to another room and it was then ok.

The hotel is dated, the food is average, but the staff are incredibly warm and friendly.

WiFi has a fee and the pool was closed for maintenance when I was there.

I Stayed here for 3 days and found the hotel excellent value. My room was big and clean ,the service was great and with a smile.
It has a nice small swimming pool and the breakfast was ideal ,catering for western and eastern tastes.
There are many things to do and see in the area, have a meal on the floating rafts in beautiful scenery or walk up the 600 steps to the Ewaran cave both within an hours drive of hotel.

Visited with my extended family. Good priced hotel in Loei. Rooms are medium sized for this class of hotel and are a little bit worn but clean. Probably the best hotel in the province. If you're needing a western food fix try the special cheese burger. Breakfast was excellent.

The hotel seems to cater for higher-end coach tours and I think it has a high and sustained occupancy rate so it's best to book in adance. Loei is a good base for scenic touring.
