The Falcon Guest house was one of the cheapest i found. It sounded good, great location and had some decent reviews. The guesthouse itself is fine, very clean and the staff very friendly. The room boy was fantastic and we tipped him Big! he made all sorts of different towel creations and kept our room clean and tidy, he couldnt do enough for us. The bar boys were attentive and friendly. The owners were most definately miserable. Boss man even had a go at my boyfriend for taking a roll of loo paper out of the room!!! haha
Food wasnt great and quite expensive but to be honest you go to India to try diffferent things, just dont waste your money on the food at the guest house, much better cheaper food around the area. The place is actually smack bang in the taxi rank/car park. very busy, hussle bussle. its a 5 min walk to the beach but to be honest i would rather stick pins in my eyes than stay on calangute beach. Almost all Indian tourists, most like to take photo's of me in my bikini! fair enough, but a nice walk along the beach either left or right brings you to Candolim, Baga which are much quieter and nicer. Prepare for lots of hassle from sellers, but most are friendly and i enjoyed haggling with them and making friends.
We travelled South for 5 days to Palolem, absolutely beautiful and thats what i expected Goa to be like. But all in all had a fab holiday, this guest house was a great bargain, as long as your prepared to stay around the very busy resort of Calangute.
