We experienced one quite serious problem with this hotel: they try to give people cheaper rooms than they have actually prepaid for. We had prepaid for a deluxe room and was given a much cheaper room at our late arrival - and told it was a deluxe room when we were a bit astonished over the poor quality of the room. It was first next day when we asked where the sea view (that was announced to come with a deluxe room) had gone that they "offered" us to change room! So they earned 1750 Rs on us the first night. We first thought it might be just a mistake - but met two other peiople the next day who had exactly the same story. So this seems to be a systematic scam - so take care!
The hotel has a bit of Faulty Towers atmosphere so dependent on who you are you may either laugh or get mighty irritated. For instance, the electricity in the room is turned on/off with your room key, and this also goes for the fridge. So the minute you leave the room, your white wine starts to warm up... The breakfast buffet looked like there had been an army before us and you have to ask specifically for refill of every of the (very few) items there. But if you are lucky to get any, the Indian food is quite good (whereas the European was really bad). The hotel charge for wifi - which is ridiculous taken into consideration how overpriced it actually is.
The people from house keeping were nice and helpfull and the location and the view from the sea facing deluxe rooms are unbeatable. So that is probably why people put up with it all. But be aware their cheating on the rooms - ALL deluxe rooms have sea view, so if you don't have that, you are not in a deluxe room no matter what they try to tell you.
